Now that they’ve seen him play at a P5 level, Ray has the reputation of being a slow, not explosive player. A plodder. Had we had our pro day and he’d put up good testing numbers in front of scouts, that would have made them reevaluate.I have no idea why a guy like Ray lima doesn't get drafted. An all big 12 player. He has the size and the skill. Leader of the best defense in the league 3 years in a row.
When he came he he was considered a stone cold lock for the NFL. (Seriously, dig up the threads) Now nothing. I just don't get it.
We didn’t have our pro day. And I’m pretty sure Ray isn’t the only Cyclone that affected the same way, either.
Some of the small school guys who did get drafted were ones that did manage to get their pro days in before the shutdown—because the school was so small they were the only prospect, and NFL scouts didn’t feel a need to wait until after the Combine, or until that school’s Spring practice.
