My prediction is that the play 4 games and still redshirt rule will continue to be overestimated as being the primary thought when coach is deciding who to play.

Coach is going to play the players who give the team the best chance to win. If a player doesn't give the best chance he may end up redshirting, but coach is not going to redshirt someone who can legitimately increase the chances of winning just to save him for a year 4 years down the road. A lot of things can happen between now and then including being recruited over and season ending injuries that make saving a player for later not the best choice when he can contribute now.

Where the rule will make a big change is having a player getting in a game just to see how he performs under the lights and give him an opportunity to see under fire where he needs to improve before next year. There will probably also be a lot more freshmen who see time in the Incarnate Word game and a bowl game if it is in hand one way or the other for the same reasons.

I'm trusting CMC and staff are playing the folks that put us in the best position to win...and I wouldn't be surprised if there are packages/personnel groups that are in their back pocket for situational things, etc.

I also believe that CMC when he says "make me play you" in terms of who makes the field.

I think we should try to RS Re-al this year, and next year put him in the slot position along with Jones and Milton. Not sure that he's a good enough passer for the college level or not?

It appears Devon Moore will likely never play QB at ISU, which is not a surprise to me. I wish he had the speed to move to LB, but I don't think he does.

Re-al is crazy fast and shifty. Not sure what the plan is for him, but CMC hinted that he was planning on getting him on the field in some capacity this year. So far everyone from the last class that has gotten on the field has impressive. That in itself is amazing.
Agree.
He needs to have the ball in his hands, whether that be as a QB or from a QB, this staff will figure it out.

I've had a couple guys very close to the team tell me that Devon Moore will not play QB for Iowa state. He's not a Big12 caliber QB. And due to his injuries, the staff isn't sure whether he can play anywhere else on the field either.

As for Re-al, I've been told he is not the most accurate QB in the world by any means. He also has trouble hitting WR on simple routes. If he plays QB, look for it to be in situations similar to wildcat or run pass options. They do not view him as a consistent QB option going forward. That could obviously change but that's the mind set right now.

Not surprised by Moore falling through the cracks. He was one of the first guys that CMC took, an Iowa guy. Doesn't sound like he has a lot of speed, so no QB to LB this time around.

Also not surprised that Re-al is not super accurate. Notice that he has a lot of highlights are him running. HE may get better with some coaching. Either way he has a lot of talent and needs to get on the field somehow.

Could he be a TE I wonder? Probably hasn't done much blocking in his life. :)

Maybe he can just play QB at a lower level somewhere if he really wants to be a QB.

My prediction has been that unless Purdy really lights it up the next two games, he will redshirt as he will hit the 4 game limit, then it will be Re-Al's turn for four games.
Are you trolling? That's the dumbest take I could imagine typing.
