I think we can now assume here it is for awhile. Rebrand it as the New Mexico Stranglers Conference.

From a geographic standpoint the only thing that would make it better is if you traded Cincinnati, WV, and UCF for Nebraska, Missouri, and Arkansas or Oklahoma. But all in all not so bad in the new nationwide conference world.

The only reason I think this holds water, is that it gets the Big12 teams in the Pacific Time Zone. And BY has been consistent in that he wants the conference represented from coast to coast.
The Pacific time zone is worthless. Linear TV showed that this year. BY was told to pause. One of FOX or ESPN isn’t ready to go to 16 or more with just anyone. We are not going to be this great life raft.

ASU is a much better add than Utah. Enrollment, bigger tv market, 2x state population. Switch their football coaches the past 10 years and we arent even talking abt Utah AT ALL.

People are mad at ASU because of one guy Crow. Everyone else there has wanted Big12 as much as AZ.

Imho the real question is Utah vs UConn. Honestly i would go for UConn. But i dont think thats what will happen.
Utah has better viewership

For now. Next cookie to crumble is ACC. Clemson and FSU want out desperately. But who wants them? I doubt the SEC wants FSU. I can’t see the big 10 accepting them. But FSU won’t be happy unless they are in one of those two conferences

I am a firm believer we are heading to one super conference. And I hope I’m wrong.
I think we need to hear what Big10 financially promised to get ORWA. What time slot (linear, streaming) will that 9th game go?

Same goes for Big12 in adding 2 games- what time slots will those 2 games? Streaming or linear. The obvious would be to fill ESPN's after dark spot, but what about the other game?

Sure the BIG10 & SEC can continue to add strong brands, but until streaming is widely accepted, there are only so many linear game slots available.

we better hope in football it doesn't get split into West/East divisions.

Baylor TCU Houston OkSt Cincy UCF WV every year doesn't sound much fun. 6 of those 7 have better teams than us most years.

Part of this is lowkey why I think WSU and OSU isn't the dumbest suggestion in the world. IF they split the 3/4 remaining full shares among themselves and go back to the table with Turner or CW for one or two games a week it could help us.

The funny thing is I've heard people convinced we would be east and others convinced we'd be west.

Obviously we are literally the most north.

Divisions (and pods) are extinct, but it's still fun to think about.

It's hard to imagine when the next time could be that the Big 12 is the fractured and poached. Every school we're adding could have been added by SEC/B10.

I'm guessing we expand to 20, 22 or 24 again in 2-5 years when FSU/Clemson somehow break their GOR.
It's not as simple as saying 'expand'. We have to add value, otherwise our media contract next time out will be dismantling.

Utah is the best add of this bunch, at least as of now. 14 with CO and AZ would have been OK, but considering everything that has gone down and the upcoming ACC shuffle, they absolutely had to get up to 16 solid teams in this cycle...no Uconn.
