Funny the reports say that the Big 10 or the Big 12 don't want to be the ones that killed the Pac 12. Really, the Big 12 has reservations? Didn't the Pac exclude the Big 12 as part of The Alliance and didn't the Pac try to blow up the Big 12 in 2010?
B12 doesn't have reservations. Reports are saying the Big 10 has reservations, and the Pac schools won't defect unless the deal is bad or UW/UO go to the B1G.

**** the Big 10 and their reservations. After taking your top two programs and leaving you without viable expansion options, now the B1G is worried about the Pac. Oh, and this after the got in their alliance together and left the B12 out.

Hey B1G, you already put a couple bullets in them, be man enough to go finish the job instead of leaving them there to bleed out.

I want the B12 to ******* gut that conference like a fish. Give anyone but Utah a life raft to the B12.

Neither the big ten nor the big twelve give a rip about being seen as the conference to take down the PAC 12. Big Ten already started it by ripping the Cali two and Big 12 is going in for some others. Neither cares how they are perceived. The person it’s going to get blamed on is the PAC 12

Exactly. I think originally they may not have wanted to be seen as the murderer of the PAC but after the ineptitude Kliavkoff has displayed I doubt they’d get much blame.

Where has this sudden bitterness about the Big12 not being part of the alliance coming from?

It was quickly apparent the Alliance meant nothing as Big10 wasn't going to schedule games against ACC/Pac12. All the warm fuzzy's about commonality regarding athlete wellbeing was just hot air.

Big12 will take some Pac12 schools and get crucified by the media for destroying the historic Pac12 Conference even though this is all the Big10 and SECs fault
Why would the big 12 do this? I am appalled with the big 12 actively trying to destroy college sports as we know it.

But seriously, how the big ten escapes this without blame from seemingly anyone is baffling

Its not that baffling. It escapes blame for the same reason the media overinflates the big 10 every single year in football and basketball.

Not buying this line of thought.

Realignment is a financial decision. Tradition and history are nice- but not going to allow a school to hire the best coaches or build competitive facilities.

Nobody is forcing Pac12 schools to join Big10 or Big12- it's all about being relevant in the future of college football.

IMO holding on to Pac12, Big12 or ACC traditions/history is delaying the inevitable and costing those schools not destined for Big10/SEC, money when it comes time to negotiate the next set of TV Media rights deals in 2031.

Brief history lesson:

In 2010, the PAC tried to gut the Big 12 by attempting to poach Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Colorado. Fortunately, the deal fell apart when the Pac would not agree to allow Texas to create the Longhorn Network. The only team the PAC was able to successfully poach was Colorado.

Fast forward to a few years ago. Texas and Oklahoma announced they were leaving for the SEC and suddenly the Big 12 was circling the drain. The Big 12 was in crisis mode and they asked the PAC about a possible merger. The PAC's response was **** em, let em drown.

Given all that history, it's laughable that the Big 12 should be concerned about perception. The Big 10 crippled the PAC when they poached USC and UCLA and they did so without blinking an eye. If the Big 12 doesn't finish off the PAC, then we deserve whatever fate awaits us.

And they did that after being all peachy about a scheduling arrangement deal.
They literally shook the PACs hand and stabbed em in the back at the same time.

Because the old major media is located in big ten territory so they protect their schools.

I don’t really care if any PAC teams join. They are elitist and arrogant. All of them dying would be fine. Swim, surf and play volleyball/baseball. Turn your stadiums into homeless shelters. Nobody goes there anyway.
Arizona seems cool, so they're welcome. Colorado is welcome back, but they have to get on their knees and beg. Utah can lick on deez hairy balls

I'm not even p***sed at BiG for taking USCLA, it's a reaction to SEC grabbing OUT, it's an arms race.
Idealistically I hate it all, but that's the reality.

But I agree, any bashing of Big 12 being some sort of villain motivated to topple PAC -- that's an extreme reach.
