Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Not particularly important unless you think a P2 invite is contingent on him being President/CEO of Miami
It doesn’t, but my point is it might not matter what his goal is because he might not be around. Kinda like University of Iowa and Hancher.

Been watching a lot of World Cup. Cabo Verde, a small island off of Africa, got draws against powerhouse Spain and against a very good Uruguay team. It is great to see the little guy have success, like the NCAA basketball tournament. Teams like Italy are at home. If this was the NCAA, for football, I can just see the SEC and Big 10 complaining of a Cabo Verde team making it versus a 4 loss Big 10/SEC team. Troy in baseball is another example. If they break away (including if the P4 break away which I hope doesn't happen either even with ISU in it), you aren't going to see these stories in all of the college sports.

This news will likely have realignment implications especially if a deep pocketed buyer like Google, Apple, Amazon or Netflix acquires NBCUniversal as a result of this spinoff. This news is probably good for the B12 and ISU:

This column perfectly describes the avoidable obstacles facing college sports. The dip$hit Michigan President would rather maintain his existing competitive advantage rather than support PCSA which would have increased the odds of retaining May and at least double their existing revenues while maintaining a significant competitive financial advantage. The boys from Fox and Petitti has got this dimwit and other B10 Presidents completely brainwashed:

Nothing we didn’t know about the current landscape…

…But you have a young rising star, fresh off a natty at a wealthy school with a rich basketball history…and he’s disillusioned.

Yeah those comments don’t mean what you think they do. Michigan built the team based on the portal and NIL. Michaign has unlimited NIL money (we refer to this as the Michigan Money Cannon) and are a premier destination. There is a lot of smoke that Dusty was gonna get hit with some NCAA sanctions but also internally he was looking for the NBA as his ultimate goal and this was his dream.

Guy went from coaching at FAU to winning a Natty and now the coach for the NBA in 3 years. He wants to coach, he doesn’t want to have to recruit at the level that you do at Michigan. It’s not about having more resources, for all intents he had unlimited resources at Michigan and knew how to use them. Mavs job is just simply too good of an opportunity to pass up
