Geoffroy: "we are waiting for Oklahoma to make a decision at this point". Did not seem too concerned about the situation, although he obviously doesn't like to discuss matters like this while watching our football games. Also mentioned Dodds & Texas and equal revenue sharing within the conference, sounded like that could in fact be a distinct possibility.

CW had that tidbit in his blog, revenue sharing and that we are waiting on OU. What kind of increase is this for ISU? And would this be a decrease for OU? Since OU and OSU are a paired commodity, I wonder if this is an increase for OSU, maybe pushing/nudging OU to stay....

So just out of curiosity if the Big 12 would go to equal revenue sharing for 10 teams what kind of dollar figure would that bring to ISU vs the amount we are currently getting? I would have to think we'd be the benefactor of millions if the league does truly go to this.
My take on OU is that they and the rest of the conference teams are now focused on getting Texas to concede to making the LHN into a regional thing or a BIG XII network. I don't think for a second that OU has been acting on their own throughout all this. I think their actions and statements have been coordinated as part of an overall plan involving the other conference teams. The goal of the plan being to paint Texas into a corner and gain concessions for better revenue sharing. Once this is taken care of, I expect BYU to come aboard as well as possibly Pitt and the 'Ville. We'll see...
I didn't think it was that much. Remember they made changes to it this year to make it more equal. The 2nd tier is almost as much as the 1st tier right now and that is equal. The first tier, I think it is only 30% that is unequally shared.
This. I have been thinking that all this posturing has been an attempt to regain some of the concessions the rest of the conference has made to UT. I believe this latest realignment and lack of interest in LHN has brought UT back to the pack just a little. I think this is a point where UT says being in the Big 12 is the best option, lets make this work. Hopefully.....:smile:

I worked this up back when it was announce how the B12 was going to distribute the revenue. I projected that the new Tier1 revenue would be about 125 when it is up for renew in 2015 based on what the Pac 12 got. Also I projected revenue based on last year's T1 appearances. It looks like there is only about 300k difference between the new B12 distribution and equal sharing.

I thought T. Boones interview was pretty interesting the other night during the OSU game. He seemed to think there was a reasonable chance the B12 would stay together, and he mentioned equal revenue as being a key part of a re-worked B12.
