Given the way this series has gone in the past it wouldnt be at all surprising if someone started some **** on their end so the refs called it more tightly to 'get it under control'.

They'll go after Gilbert and/or Jefferson for this. Jefferson said something to the opponents' bench last night and got a T and Gilbert's usually fine but at times is close to responding to hard fouls (I don't blame him).

TJ's teams have generally kept their heads up and forward no matter what and Franny ball is all about disrupting that with cheap BS to get ISU to respond and get off their game.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. Hate to use the cliche, but it really will be their superbowl. It will be their first, and possibly only, (near) sellout. It's our first real road game. They will play with false bravado at home. I expect everything Sandfort throws up will go in.

Fran will be on the officials all night. Every touch will get called. We'll be in foul trouble from the start.

I THINK we will prevail, but it's not going to be fun.

Now, it could go completely the other way, in which case I will be the happiest sumbitch alive.
Remember the fran ref stare down during the time out? Plus his tyraide

Itll be tried. Too much we have. Doesn't matter how emotionally they try. This is a deal. More so than 99/00

It will be hilarious if the crowd is close to 50-50 or even more ISU fans there. Apathy has sat in bad for that program and the fact there are reasonably priced tickets against an in-state rival ranked #3 in the country says a lot about the state of Iowa Basketball.

That being said Carver is a dump of a place to watch basketball as its basically a hole in the ground with no character. I find great joy that they can pack that place for women's games even this year after Clark graduated but its a ghost town so far for their men's team/

2014 we blasted them 90–75. It gave birth to one of the mount Rushmore Iowa State gifs.

Man, the fact it's not going to sell out is surprising. You had the players talking about how they wish they could get the same atmosphere they had in Moline in Carver. Not sure what to think of Goertz, but she may be competent enough to get rid of Fran if he doesn't at least make the tournament. The fanbase really has checked out on men's basketball.

When he was doing his HazzleDazzle stuff at 13, SoundOff was better than SNL at its peak. His perversely accurate Gary Dolphin was a riot and his delusional Husker fan was shockingly lifelike.

There was an early episode of TGNC last season where he gives ISU a pep talk for their bye week in the voice of Lou Holtz. Really one of the funniest things I've heard and definitely peak SNL level.

I definitely would have long ago and I grew up a rabid Iowa basketball fan.

With ISU riding this high a win this week is probably enough to get him to the end of his contract.

Honestly I think he's just trying to goad ISU fans into showing up there so that Iowa looks even worse and is more ready for a change. He's done with fran like most of their fans and is in the 'an embarrassment for my team is a good thing in the long run' stage.
If my son was a little older to where it wouldn’t bother him on a school night I would take him. How often is there a chance to see a top 5 cyclones team when you don’t have season tickets? And help our ******* buddy Hassel? Thing is if Fran goes after this year, I think Iowa has decent options for coaches with DeVries and the Drake coach.

Tickets would have to be really cheap for me to give that athletic department any of my money.

It's almost sad their fans don't care about their team.... I love it.

Devries will get whatever he wants at WVU. Taking the UI job would be a career regression

"Why won't our rival opponent fill our arena that our fans routinely leave two thirds empty" is quite a take, even for Hassel. It's entirely possible that CHA is taken entirely over by Iowa State AND there's still that many seats available, knowing how Hawk fans feel about CFM and his team.
It's not a take, it's trolling his own fanbase. And well done.

This is my fear and we should find out early.
