Man, the fact it's not going to sell out is surprising. You had the players talking about how they wish they could get the same atmosphere they had in Moline in Carver. Not sure what to think of Goertz, but she may be competent enough to get rid of Fran if he doesn't at least make the tournament. The fanbase really has checked out on men's basketball.
The guy just started his new four year contract this season, to buy him out would cost EIU $9 million, and they do not have the money to do it. So unless some wealthy EIU fan steps forward and ponies up some cash, Fran is going nowhere for the next couple of seasons.

I'd much rather hang with the old ladies than Frank Garza

It's really amazing watching them completely ignore NO ONE GOES TO THE GAMES.

I think Fran actually got super lucky the womens team started selling out the arena. However, that won't last to much longer with Clark gone. The focus was taken off him for that time. They keep acting like this Beth lady is something great but we shall see. She did the Brian Ferentz firing but will she try and kickstart the mens basketball team?

They'll go after Gilbert and/or Jefferson for this. Jefferson said something to the opponents' bench last night and got a T and Gilbert's usually fine but at times is close to responding to hard fouls (I don't blame him).

TJ's teams have generally kept their heads up and forward no matter what and Franny ball is all about disrupting that with cheap BS to get ISU to respond and get off their game.
I had to listen to the JSU game on the radio because I was traveling. When I was able to watch some of it I noticed that a few minutes before Jefferson's T the ref grabbed Jackson as he was coming out of the game and appeared to have a stern word for him so the refs probably had had enough of the Presidents talking at that point. I'm sure Iowa has already figured out who they will try to set off in this game and it is likely Gilbert, Jackson and Jefferson in that order because the know those are the most important ones that they think they can get to. I don't think they have a chance of setting off Lipsey, Momcilovic, or Jones unless they are coming to a teammate's defense. They might be able to get to Chatfield, but I don't think they will see a big enough payoff in that one..

I got midcourt, halfway up for about $60 per.

You can get in the door for $32 rn.

More Cyclone butts-in-seats would be a good thing if you got Thursday night open! It's probably cheaper than any Big 12 games in Hilton are gonna be lol.

I got 8 tickets for free from Friend's company tickets (all hawk fans) that did not want to go. It took me 13 "invites" before I could find someone that wanted the extra 4 tickets / parking pass.

I'm hoping on the season that the Jefferson T was good timing to get it corrected.

It was toward the end of the game and all but he didn't play after that.

Players talk all the time but that kind of thing can have a bad consequence in a tight or tough game.

Just look at their financial numbers, EIU owes over $230 million in outstanding debts. They borrowed $50 million from the university and because of interest, still owe $47 million. While they are going to get a lot of money down the road, its going to take years for the money to start rolling in and most of it has already been spent. The Register had an article Sunday stating that while EIU could go to 105 scholarship players for football, it was planning on staying at 85, because adding 20 more football scholarship would also force them to add 20 more scholarships for women sports, and they could not afford to add another 40 scholarships total. EIU is like a lot of farmers, land rich but cash poor.

"responding" to stuff is Chatfield's job. Although knowing TJ, they will be pretty stoic about any crap like that.
What I would love to see is one of their stickboys like Harding trying to start something, and our guy just rolls his eyes and gives the "feeding the ducks" motion and walks away.

Not exactly sure but I think after he deflected/stole a pass near JS's bench he turned and said something in that direction.

Looked like TJ was talking a while to one of their assistants in the handshake line and I wondered if he was apologizing for the incident or clearing things up.

I'd be more impressed if ISU's player did nothing except crank up their playing intensity further.

It's quite a burn when your only tactic is to kick the dust up and the opponent doesn't seem to notice.

Saint KF is really setting things up well for his future successor(s). The guy is so humble and generous.

Sorry..I love Hassel. I know he trolls a bit but is f’n hilarious
It's obvious he's started a new social engagement strategy. "Troll Cyclone fans as much as possible." Two-fold positives for him: 1. More engagement from us responding; 2. Ingratiates himself with his own kind ;
I will say it seems like Williams has some good come-backs.

I think the beauty of our team this year is that one guys isn't going to necessarily kill you. We can also score in multiple ways so we are really tough to defend. We will absolutely try to get downhill early and often and get Freeman in foul trouble. Iowa's guards haven't been pushed yet this season... that will change Thursday night.
no one, not even Auburn could stop Keshon....how in the world will Iowa? Feels like it would have to take his worst game of his career for us to lose this game. I know we've struggled in IC, but a loss here would be bad...yeah rivalry games always heighten the level of intensity but we are so much better than them at...well, everything.

Wouldn't be that bad on a season trajectory line.

They're probably a bubbleish team.

It would be really annoying but it always is.
