Noel said he is 2013 via twitter a few weeks ago. Made it sound like he wanted people to quit asking him about it.

Why would he want to reclassify to the 2012 class. He needs more time to delevop and his recruitment is just heating up. Needs more time to connect with schools and staffs

Pro contracts for rookies are going to change drastically after next year, likely going down by alot. Short answer, money.

If they are going to change with the upcoming labor agreement, then that means at the latest the 2013 season they would change the current arrangement. Even if Nerlens classifies as a 2012, the earliest he would enter would be 2013. I put significant doubt on that money due to the current labor negotiations has pull in this decision.

Now money in general, ie. getting into the NBA just one year sooner may very well have some weight.

I'm not worried, and won't be no matter what happens. I just prefer bigger, more versatile guards.

A couple notes:

Adam Finkelstein of New England Recruiting Report says Noel is thinking about reclassifying to 2012, but won't decide until spring.

N.D. Kendrick of Hoops Window thinks Nkereuwem Okoro is a sleeper in the 2012 class.

A UConn recruiting guy says ISU will be visiting Chris McCullough this week.

That is what BABC coach Leo Papile is telling people now, but you can see the writing is on the wall, they will know by spring how the classwork has progressed and if everything looks okay to graduate, will then officially be 2012, in my opinion of course.

Basically the same path Andre Drummond took, rumors of going from 2012 to 2011 all last winter and then boom this summer he makes it official and goes to UConn.

That is absolutely what is happening. Noel is working hard in the classroom this Fall and will next Spring, probably around March you will see it come out that either he is staying 2013 or going 2012. That announcement will be directly based on whether he was able to get all of his requirements in...

Either way, Iowa State wasn't putting up much of a chance with Nerlens so it won't make much of a difference for us in my opinion.

Finished up the transfer to the new site (and url) today, feel free to adjust your bookmarks: Iowa State Mens Basketball Recruiting

As always, give me your feedback regarding what you would like to see added to the site or if something should be changed, etc... I added in the Twitter feeds of the ISURecruitLists only to help those that are just interested in the ones I send out regarding Iowa State find them easier.

I also plan to give out some general tweets regarding the entire Big 12, if a team gains a recruit of if they miss out on one, etc. Not nearly as much detail as Iowa State, but something useful...

Enjoy

Some recruiting news tonight:

Obviously as you have seen through the other thread, Negus Webster-Chan plans to make his decision public on Friday. His leaders in recruitment have been Iowa State & Missouri.

Also, 2013 PF Isaiah Watkins is one of our latest offers. He has been lighting it up as of late and has a quickly rising stock in the 2013 class. Here is one of his latest highlight videos:
