He better. That snake oil salesmen keeps landing players despite his lack of coaching abilities.

i can't stand drew but in this case, its not really snake oil. he's selling 2 elite eights, 3 nba draft picks, and the baptist/religion focus at baylor.

I'm an extremely conservative Baptist, and I have trouble believing that the Baptist focus of Baylor is a great selling point for most recruits. I understand that some Christian guys have chosen Baylor, but I have trouble believing that it's a great selling point for most of his recruits. I wish it was, but I can't imagine that it really is.

Oh, and he trashes everyone else's program to recruits. Lets not forget, there is a reason all the other coaches don't like him. And it isn't because we lose to them because at least half the time, we don't.

Who has reported that Rashad Vaughn has had or is having in-home visits? Only reports that I've gathered thus far are coaches that are watching him at his high school (Robbinsdale Cooper).

Actually, I did see in-homes stated on twitter. They may have been wrong, of course.

Kyle Washington will visit Iowa State on October 27 for the homecoming game vs Baylor via Ryan James. Washington also has visits scheduled with NC State, Washington and Ohio State previous to his visit to Ames. He may also setup a visit with Louisville.

Glad to see we got a visit. Hopefully we can get him in. Ohio State is my concern now though. Matta can recruit.

Oh man, we have to put it to Baylor and maybe Morris and Thomas can come down and we show him the class he will be a part of.

Morris and Thomas have yet to take their "officials" to ISU, right? Maybe the staff is trying to get them to town at the same time, hence the delay in scheduling us?

...just imagining excuses since it was announced by Jason Smith shortly after he got to Brewster that we were talkin to him about a visit...

Regardless, it's good to hear!

Here's a Rivals article on Washington. I'll quote what he says about why he's considering us.

Iowa State earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament under alum Fred Hoiberg, who played with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"I like that they are up and coming too," Washington said. "They've brought in [senior guards] Monte Morris and Matt Thomas. They are bringing in good talent and winners. I love Coach Hoiberg's mentality for the game. That is exciting and it's pretty close to home, and in a good conference."

I think you're on to something here that I've heard indirectly here in Texas - that DB is very negative in bashing other B12 schools to the point other coaches (Self & Barnes - and Knight when he was at TT) got tired of his act.

i don't know much about washington, but i like how he has a really good list of schools - different parts of the country, different conferences, different coaching styles. going to be tough to get this kid, but at least we have a chance.

Little fact... On his list. ISU is the only place he has seen a basketball game at. It also happened to be a victory over a top 10 team too. He's going to LOVE Ames during homecoming weekend.
