Some more on Chris Clark from his Coach. His first visit is UCONN, and he plans on deciding by November.

“I’m pretty sure a program like that, he would want to play there, but he’s going to take his visits and evaluate that situation. He’ll make a decision for the early signing period in November.”

“He’s a combo guy,” he said. “He plays the one through four. At the college level, they’re recruiting him as a wing. Wherever he goes, he’s going to be a high-energy guy. It depends on what program. If it’s at UConn, I don’t see him being an immediate impact guy with some of the talent they have there, but some of the other schools he could be an impact guy. He has to work through that situation.
“But he handles the ball really well. People say he can’t shoot the 3. He can shoot the 3, he just hasn’t taken a high-percentage number of 3’s. He’s a guy who can get to the rim at will. He’s shown that for the past several years and really blossomed this past summer

Fred can make you "immediate impact" next year.
Step right into the BDJ role.

So did we have some visitors at the game today? The FB team put on quite a show for them, huh?

The last 30 years pretty much show there is little or no correlation between FB and MBB success (luckily)

I'm sorry but I think people are forgetting what kind of team we will already have next year. I think the only player that we are recruiting that would make an "immediate impact" is Diallo and maybe dime. That is also without going through another transfer season. He will be competing with Cooke, Custer, Morris, Naz, Thomas, and sdw. Even Diallo and Dime might have a hard time making a huge impact.

Why would he be competing with point guards?

He's slots right in at SF/wing so maybe he's competing with Thomas.

We'll see if SDW gets any PT this year. If he doesn't do you really think a top 50 recruit is going to be behind him?

As for the last sentence, OMG.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Diallo wont need to fight with anyone too much for playing time imo. He could step into Houge's spot in the rotation. top 10 recruits dont have to sit on the bench for too long unless they play for Kentucky.

He is listed as a sg. If he can play more or a 3 position than it might be a little easier, but to do that he will have to be a pretty good rebounder. If he is at the 3 he will have to compete with a senior Nader and thomas. Wherever he plays he will not be starting.

As for my last comment. Dime is not any better than mckay was at indian hills. Nobody is taking many minutes from a senior georges. When I think of having an immediate impact, I think of playing a lot of minutes. I think diallo will have one, but I think the other 2 will probably get spot minutes

Go ask Fred if he would take a 2015 starting line-up of:

Dialllo or Dime
Georges
Clarke
Hallice Cooke
Monte

Let me know what he says.

Not picking on you but the "go ask so and so" arguments using people that can't realistically be contacted always drive me insane. Radio guys do that all of the time.

Of course he would take that, but it's not like McKay, Nader, Naz and Thomas are just going to concede starting spots to Diallo, Clarke and Cooke.

We have no way of knowing yet, who the best players out of that group are besides Monte and Georges.

I think it's safe to say that Diallo (a top ten recruit on most sites) would beat out most anyone for a starting spot but not Clarke (a 50-100 ranked recruit depending on the site). If Clarke is starting then there is a problem with one of the returning players and I would expect that Hoiberg would feel the same way.

He is obviously no saying that you should LITERALLY go to Fred and ask him. What he means is that Fred would be very happy to have that lineup.

As far as what he would say if he were asked the question, "Final Four" could easily be included in his answer. Based on recent success, that would be a very realistic goal.
