Absolutely. Great player and would thrive with Fred's ability to utilize mismatches. 00 in the video below:

I'm surprised that he wants to leave crowds like that.

I truly am amazed that recruiting isn't easier for us with the amount of fan support that we have. It just goes to show how hard it is to sell our geography, a name that isn't well known, and the town of Ames.

We have to win more to be relevant. It could have been this year.

Sounds like Nick Noskowiak had a good showing at the Swish-N-Dish this weekend.
Yet another example of CFH identifying talent and recruiting the players early in the process before they blow up in recruiting. (He was soo of the radar, Bossi didn't know how to spell his name.:skeptical:)

Finally, put 6-foot-2 sophomore point guard Nick Koskowiak of the Wisconsin Playground Warriors on the watch list in the class of 2015. The product of Sun Prairie (Wis.) High was impressive during a Saturday morning playoff-round game. He has good size, can shoot the ball and most important is in total control of what is happening on the floor. A tough competitor, Koskowiak has offers from Iowa State, Creighton, Northern Iowa, Wisconsin-Green Bay and Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
TheRecruitScoop.com - Brunson asserts himself in Milwaukee

Some tweets I noticed this weekend also.

Eric Bossi@ebosshoops 6 Apr Like this 2015 PG Nick Koskowiak from Sun Prairie (Wisc.) who plays for Playground Warriors. Tough, in full control.

Nick Koskowiak is legit. Looks like a potential top 100 type player in 2015.

Eric Bossi@ebosshoops 20h My apologies to Nick Noskowiak for the misspellings earlier. Doesn't change that I think he's really good

Does anyone think Fred's 2012 class will pan out ok? Obviously Niang isn't a bust, but what about guys like Okoro and Long? I realize they were buried on a team with a deep and talented back court this year, but does anyone know if these 2 can ball with the big boys? Also, is there any concern about guards transferring out? We've got so many, and Fred keeps bringing them in

Hard to say. We won't really know till we see them this year. If they can't find their way onto the court this season, you will have to think they look elsewhere. But maybe they step up this offseason and earn some playing time.

I don't mean to pick on you, but I sure hope our guys don't have the mindset that if they aren't getting regular minutes in their sophomore year, they should be moving on. A guy like Okoro, for example, has the size and athletic ability to be a really good defender and rebounder, if nothing else. If he or Long or SDW need another year before they are ready to contribute, that is just fine with me. But if you get a steady stream of 2 years and then a bailout, it puts immense pressure on your recruiting just to keep a full roster.

I don't know about you, but riding pine with 0 significant minutes while the coach recruIts top 100 talent over you would weigh very heavy on my mind. You forget this program from a recruiting standpoint is on the rise, there is a chance that each guard we bring in from this point on is very good.. It's just the way it is.

I tend to agree with State43, if Okoro, Long and SDW can't make an impact this year, it's not likely to happen for them. It more or less means they are getting behind guys that are going to prom in a couple of weeks. Our recruiting is only likely to pick up.

The staff is very confident about the 2014 and 2015 classes from what I've heard.

I hope our guys aren't thinking like that. We need them to stick around and at least develop into role players by years 3 and 4. You can't be replacing 4-5 guys every single year. Everyone loves the incoming class but we still had to take 4 jucos just to fill out the team.

LOL at the people who don't think SDW will make an impact. Why do you think he redshirted? He redshirted so his impact can be even greater. Fred has mentioned how much potential he has multiple times. CFH has also said he would have been in the rotation this year. It's not like SDW was a nobody recruit either. Ranked 125 and recruited by Michigan says he has a chance to make a big impact.

As for Long and Okoro, you know players can improve? They weren't needed this year because of Lucious, Babb, McGee and Clyburn. Let's wait and see what happens before we say they will never make an impact at Iowa State.

**** like this irritates me. No one is saying the wont so quit putting words in my mouth. Go back and read the context. I simply stated that if Naz and Okoro don't find their way on to the court with meaningful minutes this next season, they might prefer to go elsewhere, but maybe they put in the work this offseason and earn quality minutes. There was nothing controversial about what I said, it's common sense. HavinG 4 year role players would be great but it would be selfish to ask for that. Especially when you listen to a guy like Naz talk about basketball. He lives it, works hard, I don't think the guy would be content to come off the bench for several years if it came to that.

You need to re-read what was written because no one is saying they can't be impact players. The point is if not this year, then it's unlikely.

No one expects them to beat out Babb, Clyburn, KL and McGee for minutes this year, but there is a big difference between competing with those four, and other fellow newcomers, most of which are younger than you.

"If Long, Okoro and SDW can't make an impact this year it's not likely to happen." SDW is a freshman, it's not do or die for him.
