Not necessarily, I really think that Prohm is focusing on Arlando Cook, Emmanuel Malou and Romello White and has Carter. Plus I'd be surprised if the staff doesn't try to add one more JC or immediate transfer post player with or with out TC. Cook would have an opportunity to earn a starting spot, but from watching him I am not sure he is physically ready to start in the Big 12 day one, like most HS post prospects outside the top 25-30. it isn't a given he'd be the starter. Iowa only has one scholarship available thus his track to playing time is pretty clear as of today.

Physically he is ready, IMO. He's got a very good build, he's 6'8" and seems to be pretty athletic.

If he wouldn't start, it would be more because he's not yet highly skilled, although as McKay and many other big men have proved, you just have to be able to run up and down the court and finish if you're 6'8"+.

my guess would be if we get Malou, we try to sign Arlando Cook, Curry, or White ( 1 of them), Jakolby Long, and than a transfer....as things usually happen, I would expect another scholarship to open at the end of the season too ( whether someone transfers, Monte leaves, etc).....but I wouldn't pay a nickel for my thoughts here as they are pure speculation...

I would take 2 of those 3 if we had the opportunity. Malou, 2 of those 3, and Long would be a helluva class, where do you think that would rank for the class?

If we land Malou, A. Cook and Monte stays, that's a Top 20 team.

With those three plus another year of Burton/Cooke/Thomas that is a Top 12 squad to me... Yowza!

Don't put your cart ahead of the horse. I understand the hype on Malou, but many of these guys are still unproven commodities here. Malou hasn't translated to D1 basketball and the other guys have yet to play in the system. I'm not saying they aren't/won't be good, but to jump and make the prediction after we lose a lot after this year is a bit much. Burton has to establish himself again, Cooke is coming off an injury and those other guys are young and unproven.

Sometimes I think we as a fan base set ourselves up for nut punches.

We'll know a lot more after we get to see Burton, Cooke, Thomas and Carter play.

You could roll the ball out with Monte at PG and 4 guys from North Polk, and we would be formidable.

I'd like to see if Jordan Ashton gets some PT too. Kid can shoot it.
You can bank on him getting some PT early season with Naz probably not being fully healthy until January I imagine....has been talk of him getting one of the open scholarships for this season so he can travel.....but I doubt Prohm wants to guarantee that scholarship for next year ( so not sure how that works)....

Which is why I have a case of nut cups and wear one at all times.

Why wouldn't he be able to travel?

I am not sure he is physically ready to start in the Big 12 day one...

He's 6'8" 240 lbs with offers from Kansas, Iowa State, Florida, Purdue, UConn, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, Florida State and Iowa.

What was it that you saw from him that was lacking, physically speaking?

I assume he can't shoot, but I don't think any school is going to be asking him to do much of that.

Physically he's ready to play anywhere.

Can't forget about Jackson too would bump that class up. And you have Solomon and Carter as the 50/50 Ejim and Hogue type guys. So all I can say is give me a stone cold freaking hell ******* ya with a stone cold stunner to KU in 2016.
