Agree with that only drawback is they are juco kids with only 2 yrs and then done. So if we got a HS kids they more than likely could learn from them and be 4 yr kids. I hope to see either Eric Curry, Arlando Cook, or Kostas

Are we even after Kostas? Haven't heard much about him since May...

As long as we get Curry or Cook we're fine. If you miss both, we should be a good landing spot for an immediate big man 4/5 in the spring.

They're out there each spring but they want a starting spot tee'd up.

Who even knows. Last update was in July/June and it said we were but his recruitment has been extremely quiet. I'm not holding my breath on him. Makes me wonder if there are academic problems, seems like it happens often for foreign prospects.

But Jucos can come in and contribute right away which is needed from this class
True but that is a lot of reloading all over again after 2 yrs like to have a even balance 3-4 HS kids and then jucos and transfers. But I am just a fan whomever ISU gets I will like. I personally want Curry or A Cook

Hoping to get a little insight from someone that lives and breaths BB recruiting.

after looking at the Scholarship breakdown for 16-17 I see we have:
3- PG if MM were to return (understand Monte's return can't be assumed)
4-Wings, to generalize 2- SG & 2-big guards
3-Posts with the addition of Malou

I would assume we're looking for a shooter, a big SF that can also play inside and another Post.

Could I get a brief summary of where we stand on the guys that would fill that wish list and who are the priorities?

Malou is less of a post and more of that big SF who can also play inside that you mentioned. SG Jakolby Long is visiting for the KU game & the coaches also visited SG Zach Norvell but we haven't heard much with him. PF Eric Curry visited last weekend & will be deciding soon. Juco PF Arlando Cook seems to like ISU a good amount but has said he wants to decide in the spring. Kostas Antetokounmpo seems to be a big SF who can also play inside but his recruitment has been really quiet so not sure where we are.

You're not far off in terms of needs remaining.

Most likely the next commit will be Jakolby Long who is a ball handling 2/3 from Oklahoma. Long visits Oct 3rd. 6'4" and physically built well for the B12.

Eric Curry will be deciding this week and is down to Minnesota, ISU and Arkansas. He's a 6'7" forward. He visited for the Iowa game.

The other primary recruit remaining is Arlando Cook who is a a 6'8" juco forward. Supposedly visiting in December possibly for the CyHawk game.

After that there aren't a lot of prospects that have visited and are still on the board, or with visits set.

Do you all think Curry is coming to ISU or Arkansas? I don't see him picking Minnesota.

I think all 3 are in the mix. Arkansas obviously has the home state advantage. He really liked his visits to ISU and Minnesota. None of the three would surprise me from what I've read.

AR played the Jerry Jones card on his visit. He will be a Razorback.

Sign me up for A. Cook. Basketball is becoming a year-to-year battle more than a 4-year development program (see Fran's mediocrity). You go after the best players you can and do it again the next season. Of course you have to carry some clout to win with that strategy. Hoiberg gave us the momentum, and Prohm is off to a good start.

That said, I would be thrilled with a Curry commit as well, but if given a choice, prefer Cook.
