Fair enough, that is a good point. I am a big college basketball fan, but admittedly did not watch a lot of PAC 12 games during Hallice's freshman year, and can't recall if I even saw him play....and I bet most of the CF members are the same....But if you did catch some of them, you probably do have a good idea of how he approaches the game and his skillset......Bottom line, we need both guys to be not just solid, but play to their potential the next 2 years if we want to get where we are expected to be in 2016, and keep the momentum somewhat the following year..
And I can agree to that. I think Matt has an advantage in that he has had to develop from a "Catch and shoot" type player to having to create more shots or dribble-drive. I saw Cooke do that, but I think Matt has more experience doing it and has a better floater whereas I think Cooke has a better jumpshot/step back shot.
Absolutely, this is a great "problem" to have considering that both are talented players. I certainly agree that both need to be at their best for us be as good as we want to be. I think for Matt the key to that realization is confidence/consistency or as you said the mental side of the game. For Cooke, I think it is fully recovering from surgery, knocking off the rust, and diversifying his game a little more. The first two take time. The last is his "skill" to focus on.
Sorry to high jack the recruitment thread. Let's be honest, this is CF where the points don't matter and we rarely stay on topic. Back to recruitment!
