Yep, and we would be okay if we got another Percy in 2014. Obviously you hope to get someone considered an impact guy, but I am not going to panic if we do not.

I think we could all live with another Percy caliber big man. You'd classify Percy as a little one dimensional currently but still pretty good overall.

If we get a player that lacks in certain areas on 2014, I'd prefer one that is more defensively orientated as we'll have plenty of fire power with Percy, Niang, Jones, Thomas, MM, Naz and SDW.

27 rebs is complete domination of your opponent. That's ridiculous.

with finals, and no game until Sat, I assume almost everyone (staff) is out on the road the early part of the week visiting recruits...

I'm from northern Minnesota and I actually played basketball against Grand Rapids a couple times. The competition isn't exactly the best and they play a lot of small teams. The stats are probably inflated a lot.

Carrington sounds like he's kind of a long shot for ISU. I don't know how hard they're going after him though

I'm going to say something I wrote on one of the others threads. I think Reid Travis should be #1 on our big board. The dude is less likely to go blue then pro than Vaughn is and he's a position that we desperately need. He's very very skilled and muy intelligente I believe. He could be a three year starter if he stays, with him being behind percy and Niang his freshmen year. If I had a choice between him or Vaughn I'd probably take him, but I'd easily settle for both
:smile:
Side note: His name just doesn't seem to roll off the tough right. You almost have to force it.

Why not both?

Uconn = Land of honesty......
In the meantime, are they eligable for the tourney yet? :rolleyes:

Actually, Ollie and Fred a friends and hold each other in high regard. I think UCONN will continue to be a great program with him at the helm.

can't say i agree with you at all, infact i vehemently disagree with you, you always take the most talent you can get first if it comes down to 1 scholly left and either vaughn or travis you take vaughn every time, once we get 1 blue chip it will open the door for others as well, look at baylor they are pulling in big time guys left and right because a couple of guys that were blue chip went there, and now they are considered a destination for blue chips

When you look at our current big man situation for 2014 and see that we have percy as a senior, Georges, and Daniel Endozie (a not very high ranked JUCO) they're is no way you wouldn't. He's the 5th ranked power forward. To survive in the big 12 we going to need a lot more than those three. Especially when you look at our guard situation and we won't have a legitimate SF except JUCO Dustin Hogue. This kid would be a great addition and if you look at his highlights he's a very good shooter. If we nab Malik-Abu than fine take Vaughn, but a big man is #1 right now. Not another SG. Even if he is that good. I think there's more to the recruiting in Baylor than just nabbing blue chips cause he hasn't exactly done anything with them.

We are forgetting that our coach is one to adapt the style of play to the personnel. Bottom line is that you take the best talent you can get adjust your game plan according to your personnel. Hoiberg will always take the best talent he can no matter the position. There have been many teams in college basketball that have won playing with a small lineup.

La Crosse Trib saying 31 pts for Thomas on 10-17 shooting in only 17 mins of play... Pretty impressive, even against Div 2 (2nd largest class) in WI.

He also led the team in rebounding (8) and "combined with Clint Rihn for 7 steals"...
