First of all, it's the accumulation of all his games. Great scorer but my problems lay with overall defense, court awareness, rarely passes the ball back out, just forces a shot even when one isn't there and lack of attack when going for rebounds. He may improve in all those areas as time progresses but it makes me nervous

I like Percy as a player. Guy shot 65% last year, so it's hard to blame him for shooting until he has an extended slump. Especially considering the bad shots he threw in on the regular last year. The only thing I don't like about him is with our personnel in next two years, it would be nice to have a big shot blocker/rebounder as our big guy. If ISU plays a 3 guard lineup next year, they will struggle on the boards unless Percy steps up.

Well, he's also got to learn how to pass out of a double team.

Percy has his issues, but his scoring ability is something we may not miss until it's gone.

I think at times we will have a 3 guard line up, but I think our main lineup will be:

Percy-C
Niang-PF
Ejim-SF
Thomas-SG
Jones-PG

I really, really like that starting lineup, but I would bet during games, just because of the lack of depth at 4/5, Ejim and Niang end up trading bench minutes after the under-12's, or earlier each half. Right now, with only Amardi signed, If one of them gets in foul trouble, that becomes a huge problem (unless you're like the people I sit next to and are huge Ellerman fans). Just goes to show how badly bigs are needed, and I'm absolutely certain CFH knows that. I know there's not a lot of support for bringing in Edozie, but they have to bring someone, just about anyone in for body size and rebounding sake against bigger teams. To me, the ideal would be any JC transfer that will be a senior next, leaving scholarships open.

His nickname should be "the black hole" .... ball always goes into him... never comes back out.

I would love it if they got both Abu and O' Mara. When know Abu is a freak of an athlete, and will excell at the college level, but I believe O' Mara could be a little underrated..I like this kid! I think he could share some time with Gibson at Center for a couple years.. I am all for getting top talented guards, but in-excess I feel could be a bad thing. My opinion.

I think we will sign a Juco post for the class of 2013 class; so therefore we will only have 2 more scholarships to fill for the 2014 class. Both of them should go to posts/wings considering we lose Ejim and Amardi.

So I think our top targets right now for the 2014 class are:

Rashad Vaughn
Abdul-Malik Abu
Reid Travis
Sean O'Mara

Then for the 2015 class we will need to replace: Percy, Jones, Hogue, and Juco post. So a couple guards and a couple posts.

Yeah Custer is replacing Bubu's scholarship. Speaking of Bubu I really really hope he is not guilty. The scholarship will go to waste next year now officially since Custer is taking over his scholarship. A class of 2013 guard prospect is no longer an option.

I hope he is.:jimlad:

That makes no sense, why would Bubu's scholarship go to waste next year?

Percy will be just fine. He's played limited minutes in one season + 4 games. Good grief, it used to be big men got 2 or more years to develop. He's a back-to-the-basket post and we need him badly. His biggest problem in my opinion is that he knows he is getting limited touches in limited minutes so when he gets the ball, he feels compelled to put it up. That's just youth, he will get it figured out.

This. Kid is a true sophomore. He wasn't a 5*, 1 and done guy. Peoples expectations are way out of whack, par for the cyfan course.

I agree. I'm amazed how many people are freaking out about Percy, 4 games into his SO year.

He will be an offensive juggernaut by the time he's a SR playing along side Niang

Cuz we obviously aren't going to sign another guard for just the 2013-14 season. And since we signed a 2014 guard that takes away the possibility of signing a high school class of 2013 guard. And as of right now it looks like we are only going to sign one juco post for the 2013 class which leaves bubus scholarship not filled and wasted next season. The only reason it would be a positive having that scholarship open would be to sign a transfer and have him sit out the 2013-14 season

Good grief, no one is "freaking out," just making an observation on what is, not what could be. Need more options.

You never know when a situation might come up with a player (I'd prefer at PF/C) who graduates early and wants to play for a winner their last year.

I bet they fill it.
