It's not time to discuss 2015 just yet. We can still talk about Vaughn, who seems like our most likely commit at this point, and Cunningham, for which I have no idea he's suddenly being brought up again, especially since I didn't even know we were still communicating with him. And of course we can start looking at JuCos and Transfers which is always a good time.

We need to fill the two scholarships for 2014 before we begin discussing 2015. All I know is that the silver lining of this dark cloud is that there is no way we need to over recruit anyone to land Vaughn at this point.

There is plenty of precedent in the RecruitLists thread(s) for discussing future years recruiting classes. It's been that way since day 1. .. Any and all recruiting information.

So were saying it is okay to discuss potential 2015 recruits here? :psmile:

This was timely...

obviously, but even though its been a rough week for our 2914 recruiting it doesn't mean we should just move onto 2015.

If we land Vaughn, all will be forgotten.

If not, it will be interesting to see if Hoiberg will re-evaluate his strategy next year. A lot will depend on how we fare in the Juco and transfer market I suppose.

People aren't "moving on". I am sure any news about 2014 prospects will be brought to our attention. But this is a list about all recruits in the men's basketball thread. Who made you king for the day?

Were you upset when we heard about Vaughn a year ago?

I have to say I'm excited to hear about Cunningham's visit for the Iowa game. I think he would be a great pick-up.

Seems like every year we get a commit from out of nowhere. Remember Lucca Staiger commiting and we didn't even know who he was and didn't know we were recruiting him? I assume there are some 2014 recruits that we don't even know we are in on.

I'm looking at Cunningham's offer list on Rivals and if it's about the best program to him, there's not a team on his offer list better than us. Look at this offer list: Bradley (yawn), DePaul (when was the last time they had a winning season?), Iowa (chuckle), UMass (boring), Minnesota (new coach, shaky program), Missouri (no way), Nebraska (haha, hilarious), Oklahoma (decent), St. John's (that program always seems to flop between good and bad), and Virginia Tech (been horrible ever since Greenberg left). Hopefully he picks the good guys. Custer, Cunningham, and Vaughn would be a very nice class.

Most quotable line is highlighted below. He wouldn't visit a program "so many times" if he wasn't interested.

Josh Cunningham Talks Bradley

Morgan Park 2014 small forward Josh Cunningham is among the best prospects left in the state. The senior is an athletic wing with good size and versatility. Cunningham is active around the basket, quick to the glass, and finishes in transition. He made great strides in his perimeter game handling the ball and shooting it during the summer.

The top 10 prospect in the state visited Bradley unofficially over the weekend. The Braves have made the Mac Irvin Fire forward a major priority. He has built a close relationship with the Braves coaching staff led by Head Coach Geno Ford and his lead recruiter assistant coach Ronald “Chin” Coleman.

“My relationship with the coaching staff is real good. I feel like I got to know them well and they are real cool people.”

Cunningham has visited Bradley so many times he could give the tour. What stands out about their program to the forward?

“The players. How cool they are and I like the way they play. They are getting better and better each year.”

The Morgan Park star says the next step in the process will be cutting down his list. Right now all of the schools that have offered are still in the mix.

Get Vaughn and it doesn't even matter. Have another appearence this year, then our run next year with a loaded team... Keep on the high targets just like this year and see more of them accept.

Then we can just finish off the class with Jucos and/or transfers...(unless we get a surprise good HS commit)
