Our 2 and 3 are pretty much the same thing.

Especially in Fred's system. essentially, if one is a bit shorter, you need one that is a bit taller. I think the SG primarily get's the picks at the perimeter to get an open look (Similar to McGee) while the SF has more freedom to create their own shot. But really, it depends on what player is out there. Fred just works with who is on the floor.

Cunningham is more of a 3/4 than a 2/3. He doesn't have the perimeter skills now to be a 2. Assuming we can put position labels on him.

Yeah, Cunningham is 6'6" to 6'7" athete that can explode at the rim. I would think he'd play a role simular to Clyburn (3-4 hybrid, couple of minutes at the 2 if needed) eventually, assuming he developes a consistant jump shot. I assume this would have been Oroko's role in CFH system before he transfered out. Cunningham seems more refined offensively that KO was as HS senior though, thus the higher rating.

So anyone heard that he is visiting this weekend or not? I know CW's source indicated that was the initial plan in August.

If we got Vaughn, we wouldn't need him at 2 with Thomas & SDW there as well. I primary 3/4 would be perfect while Vaughn splits the 2/3 with Thomas & SDW. Drooling just thinking about it.

Is going from Cunningham visiting Ames this weekend on an official, to Fred and crew having to go TO Cunningham a couple days before a sign of desperation on CFH's part?

NC State is just like Baylor. They recruit well and have a loaded roster, but always underperform because their coaching sucks. You can honestly throw UNC as of recent years in there as well and Kentucky last year.

I'm not so sure Kentucky underperformed as much as expectations were too high for an essentially freshmen roster, and then Nerlens went down to the knee injury didn't help. I'm no Kentucky lover, but that seems to be a bit of a reach to say Cal didn't coach well last year.

They lost in the 1st round of the NIT. They will often have to start a lot of freshmen due to the number of "1 and done" players they recruit, so that can't be an excuse. I certainly wouldn't say he's a bad coach, but he did a very poor job of coaching last year.

I would say "no" based on just that information. I'm not convinced that he cancelled an official visit.

I agree completely. And he put the blame on the kids when he said they were uncoachable. That is why you get paid the big bucks Cal and you recruited them. blame should be solely on Calipari.

I thought I remembered an interview on TV where he took the blame?

We'll probably hear more about Cunningham after the in-home visit on Thursday. Someone's source will give some feedback to one of the ISU publishers (CWilliams, THines, BLaGesse, etc.).
