Oklahoma got a commitment from Khadeem Lattin today - a post player. That makes two 2014 post commits for them. Could influence Cunningham.

If it appears we're going after McKay again, do you think this means we're unsure on Cunningham or think we're trailing in that picture?

Well, I wouldn't read to much into it. McKay was a priority of the staff prior to his commitment to Marquette. Even if Cunningham would have/does commit I would expect the staff to still show intrest. ISU had been recruiting a number of posts only to lose them to other schools recently. It only makes sense with him unexpectedly leaving Marquette Fred would give him a call. It is quite common for most colleges to oversign and let the numbers work themselves out by this time next year.

It means he isn't a lock and we already knew that. Cunningham wasn't taking a scholarship this year and next year there is room for both...possibly.

Edit: Even if Cunningham is a lock that doesn't mean Fred wouldn't want both. I'd love to be in the recruiting war room.

I assumed that this was the case anyway. It sure seemed like it.

Somebody get up in here with a definition of "fringe" prep prospects.

I'm pretty sure there's an Iowa joke here somewhere.

Not to be a debbie downer but I believe Cunningham goes to Bradley. He cancels his visit with Minnie and takes an unoffical to Bradley. He then visits us here this weekend. Then goes back for another visit to Bradley after that and decides. Signs point to Bradley at this point. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him commit here, but I see us getting McKay before we get Cunningham.

I would tend to agree.

If he wants to play in the lousy MVC, then he can go ahead. I have no clue why he would want to, though. Bradley hasn't had a respectable team since Patrick O'Bryant was there. Hope he realizes the Big 12 is the place to be instead of some school that has one to two tourney teams a year.

Rather Bradley than OU

Cunningham would be a BIG get! He's already gifted but I can wait to see how Fred would impact his game. He could be a great, player for us and NBA bound when it's all said and done. I'm eager to hear what comes out of this weekend.

Can't take him, McKAy and Vaughn without some attrition. Will be interesting.

Where have I heard this before...oh yeah EVERY transfer thread.

You're right though - it seems like CFH is always planning for the future. It's akin to airlines, right? They book more seats on the flight than they can actually sell because someone always changes plans at the last minute. I think this can be bad at times (Amardi) but in the end I want the BEST team possible with the BEST players. If guys can't handle that then maybe they should go to the MVC for their college ball.

It would be real interesting if we were to get lucky to land them all (My guess is we won't - 2 at most) as that would severely limit us in the transfer market after the season (providing we don't have even more attrition, which is possible). I've secretly come to love the transfer market for a guy or two every year. However, these 3 guys are all quality enough candidates who I'd be completely okay shutting down our incoming transfer market for this coming year if they were to commit.

I would just be interested to know if Fred wants both McKay and Cunningham or prefers just one of them. That is something we will never know unless one commits and the other offer is pulled.

I think it's a moot point but interesting.

It would also be interesting to know which one he would prefer if he had to choose one. There is a lot of factors outside of their simple talent level that I'm sure he factors in which we'll only be able to speculate on, but never know. I'm also sure he views their talent level different than many on this board as well.
