Damn. If we had a scholarship left, I'm sure he would've signed with us. Oh well. If we get Clarke and Diallo or Dime, I'll be a happy camper.

If PT was his immediate priority, I doubt it. With its roster gutted by suspensions, Oregon presented far more immeditate PT opportunity than ISU.

While I agree with you, it is not like the staff knew Brooks was going to reclassify to the 2014 class when they signed Tsalmpouris.

he was all set to enroll at Brewster this fall, but kind of blew up this summer and schools started talking to him about re-classifying

THIS. There's no way that coaching staffs can navigate the world of recruiting without some bummer moments that were completely out of your control. I still think it's crazy that a kid can reclassify and change high school classes. It's not like these kids are going to a regular school and loading up on credits. With all their weird schools and prep school, maybve the kid has already done four years of school, I don't know. The whole thing is just bizarre.

If I had to assume, I would say Brooks probably graduated high school in 2014 but planned on doing an extra year of prep school at Brewster to increase his exposure to high profile recruiting. Then when he had a good summer and got that exposure without going to Brewster he decided to skip the prep year because he was already eligible to attend college in 2014.

This. Tsalbo is a better fit right now because he is not expected to play significant minutes and that works well with the talent we already have. If Brooks was looking for playing time, it probably was not going to happen this year. Too many mouths to feed. The last thing we want is to end up having derpth instead of depth, if you know what I mean. :jimlad:

Dime is going to visit KU also. I wonder if he is both team's backup plan to Diallo or if his offer is unconditional. Probably conditional for KU. ISU...not sure.

I say we take the first to accept. I'd hate to lose out on both. But that's just me. Also, Diallo will be a 1 year player while Dime will more than likely stay 2 years and his body is 2 years older than Diallo so more mature. Again, that's just me.

Agree. I bet KU takes a different approach. Because they can.

The only thing is even if dimes is better in that aspect., diallo would help alot more on the recruiting trail in the long run

@TravisHines21: Dime has a visit scheduled to Iowa State the weekend of September 5th.

According to Hines, Dime's visit has been rescheduled to the weekend of the first football game. I'd assume that Dime has spent some time at Iowa State.

What position is he?

@TravisHines21: Indian Hills' Malik Dime's official visit to Iowa State has been rescheduled to the weekend of Aug. 29, sources tell the Ames Tribune.

I like that he is coming here before his visit to KU. However, if he were to come here and not commit that same weekend, I'll be feeling pretty uneasy with him heading to KU.

How good is this guy? I've heard a lot of good things about him, but have only seen a one minute video of him. It's hard to tell based off of one video.

I'm guessing we'll push for a commit at that point and concede that Diallo is a long shot. Just a haunch/opinion.

Same type of player as Diallo, athletic shot blocker type
