THis is the best overall class of Offensive Lineman I have seen for us in a very long time. Let's hope they are as good as advertised and can take over in a couple years.

I really like the DE's we have committed too. If there is room, adding either a player like Cherry or a HS DT like Shortridge would mean two great DL classes in a row.

When people question if progress is being made while looking at our records, this is the first thing I think of. It takes time to see the results of building the roster and filling the pipelines. I remember the days when too much of our recruiting was about filling holes for the next year- times when we did not even have bodies at certain positions.

Next year may be a bit of a down year as a result of it representing the transition recruiting year, but we are set up very well after that.

I wonder if Ben Bruns' academic and football careers were mentioned during Jake's recruiting by either CPR or Ben himself. If you use Bruns' career path as the safest with Osemele's path as the upside, what's not to like?

I think Iowa State will be an OL factory/pipeline to the NFL in the 4 to 5 years. The last few OL classes have been great! The recruits are already coming in with great size and length. With 3/4 years in the Yancy McKnight system these classes will be NFL ready beasts. Excited for the future of this program. Go Cyclones.

sed johnson was still very talented and had great size for a big 12 WR. the guy appeared to have no work ethic and despite being given every opportunity in the world, could not realize his talents.

campos appears to be very in tune with developing himself physically and i'll guess that means he will be a hard worker. he could anchor a very promising offensive line for us in the near future.

I never got the impression that Sed Johnson understood the game of football at all. He was just utterly worthless on the field.

Yeah, and when you look at him at 6-4, 200 and then put a stopwatch on him you just go "Holy $&^$, I think we can turn this guy into something."

Three years later: Crickets.....

Sedrick Johnson was a tremendous talent, but he clearly lacked the mental aspect to play college football.

Is Ben Bruns still coaching at Valley? and how limited is he by the NCAA for saying anything about ISU?

I really believe that this will allow us to take that next step toward national prominence. It increases our outlook nationally in recruiting and I suspect this guy will make a huge impact on the field--probably even as a freshman.

Calm down people. The guy is probably going to be good. But he's not going to come in and start at left tackle next season. Let the guy redshirt and spend a year in the weight room before we make him out to be the best thing since sliced bread.

How dare you try to temper our expectations, don't you know where you are!?
