Is Ben Bruns still coaching at Valley? and how limited is he by the NCAA for saying anything about ISU?

I'm guessing that being a high school coach counts as a pre existing relationship with a recruit so he would be ok to do certain ISU related things. Just guessing though.

dumb question, will he play as true freshman, or rshirt? I know this is WAY early speculation but, what ya think?
I'd expect him to follow a similar career path to Kyle Lichtenberg and Jacob Gannon--or even Brock Dagel. Play some as a redshirt freshman as he adds weight and muscle. He's only listed as 6'7" 250 right now.

I think Iowa State will be an OL factory/pipeline to the NFL in the 4 to 5 years. The last few OL classes have been great! The recruits are already coming in with great size and length. With 3/4 years in the Yancy McKnight system these classes will be NFL ready beasts. Excited for the future of this program. Go Cyclones.
Why wait so long?

From his comments on the radio (something along the lines of "when I coached at Valley...") I think that maybe he's not there any longer.

Campos is a nice catch. He's long, and has all the attributes to make for a nice tackle. He just needs another forty or fifty pounds (I'll note that Vikes' tackle Kalil apparently played at 285 at USC). The interesting thing is that while he's lean, my thought was that he wouldn't contribute as soon as someone like Logan Tuley-Tillman--whom he's actually rated a spot higher than.

Iowa State swipes a big Mizzou commit - Big 12 Blog - ESPN
Offensive tackle Jake Campos was the No. 4 player in the state of Iowa. He'd also been committed to Missouri since May 10.

Campos, however, took a visit to Ames last week and pledged his commitment to Paul Rhoads' Cyclones, canceling an upcoming visit to Missouri.

He spoke with RecruitingNation's Damon Sayles:
“It is the greatest fit for me,” said Campos, who is ranked the No. 4 player in Iowa and the No. 75 tackle in the nation in the Class of 2013. “The academics are outstanding on the team. They have over 15 engineers with a 3.2 GPA. That’s huge to me, because I want to be an engineer.”
Campos talked more about the academic side of Iowa State, noting that a retired professor of engineering works with players, too.

It's not a huge surprise to see him elect to stay home, but could the recent success of the Cyclones and shortcomings at Missouri have been factors, too? I have a hard time believing they weren't.

And who can remember the last time Iowa State stole a commit from Mizzou? Have to think it's been a while.

I mean this as an honest question, and not necessarily a leaning one: Who goes to more bowl games over the next decade? Iowa State or Missouri?

You could make a case both ways.

I'll bet $20 Campos plays before Tillman. It will take LTT 3 years to be ready. He needs a huge body comp change. When defining raw as far as Olinemen go, Till man is the poster boy. Huge ceiling but needs work.

I had not bothered to watch any video, on Jake Campos, until yesterday. He shows the kind of footwork that gets any OL coach salivating. It actually was the best footwork I had seen since a year ago when I watched video high lights of Jacob Dunning. Campos and Dunning are going to start a lot of games, for the Cyclones, in IMO.

Love getting the top guys in Iowa to come to ISU. Starts by always getting the best players in the state.... All Rhoads lead to Ames!
