A few months late to the argument but….

Vegetable is a culinary term, not a biological term.

Fruit is both a culinary and biological term. The biological term basically just means something with seeds and includes tomatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers, and all sorts of other “vegetables.”

The traditional “fruit” from a culinary perspective is what we mean by the fleshy sweet plant bulbs.
It is important to realize that wisdom and knowledge are not the same thing. Miles Kington offers, and famously repeated by Irish Rugby player Brian O’Driscoll, a light hearted explanation of the difference, “Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing never to put one in a fruit salad” (Kington)!

Just to mess everyone up, apparently he goes by Tam —pronounced like “Tom”.

Dom Orange said that he’s a specimen.
Let’s pump the brakes for a minute before we put any expectations on him. It’s a huge jump going from the Ivy League to the Big 12. He’s got the size, but let’s not pretend like DE won’t most likely be the weakest position on the team. There’s a reason 3 transfers were brought in at that position

Ok, we'll tell Dom to calm down.

Our last Ivy League transfer was a 4th round NFL pick. Talent exists everywhere

You’re welcome! I’m just aware enough to call a spade a spade. I’m not going to compare him to an All Pro, future NFL HOFer, like someone else on this site routinely does. I think if we get 2 sacks this year outta him, that would be a really stellar year from him
Did that really happen? Who was the comp?

This person compared JJ Kohl to Justin Herbert and Joe Flacco, Jacob Imming to AJ Klein, Deylin Hasert to Kyle Long, Deon Silas to Dalvin Cook, Darien Porter to Randy Moss, Daniel Howard (2026 commit) to Aaron Donald. They said Dekkers was Heisman material. They predicted Hunter Deyo would be an all-timer at ISU.

I want ISU to win the big 12 and a natty as much as anyone on here, but I’m also a realist. McDonough is very physically gifted, but I might say Malone is equally, if not more, physically gifted, looking at them in person side by side.

In saying “DE may be the weakest position on our team,” I’m not saying our DE’s will be bad. I just think we’ll be so good everywhere else, they may be the group that isn’t as good. But it’s also concerning we brought in 3 GT DEs

I’ll be disappointed if we only get 2 sacks out of him. But other than 1 guy, who else here routinely compares players like this?
