I guess this just goes to show us that just because we sign a kid the recruiting process doesn't end. Apparently, there is always going to another school attempting to pick off our players behind the scenes.

That's always been the case. Iowa St coaches didn't stop recruiting/contacting McNeil just because he had already signed. Recruiting really doesn't stop until they're enrolled. There's multiple request to be released from LOIs every year, and coaches know that it's always a possibility. They just have to continually recruit these kids.

Just ask him if he is sure........and if so tell him best of luck, but understand that any school we might play the next year or two that we know of will be blocked. That includes holiday tourneys. So if say Cal happens to be in the same tourney..........tough toe-nails. There are consequences to actions.

Lucky for him I don't think Cal is in any of our tournaments.

I'll be glad when the season actually starts and we are playing our first game. The thrill of victory and agony of defeat regarding recruiting this year. Some great highs but some real sucky lows.

Coaches spend an enormous amount of time and money recruiting these kids. Unfortunately, there's not a better way to screen these young kids from bolting on us. These kids make a better argument to go after sit-one, play two transfers. They are more mature, proven, and know the deal from the git-go. Let's call it balance.

Don't want a kid that really doesn't want to be here. There is no value to our basketball program for players that aren't fully committed. Some kids seem to have zero commitment these days. I guess those days are long gone.

Good point. Kids never left before these darn kids.
For example, Jeff Grayer didn't go home to Flint in midseason of his freshman year with the intention of staying there until he transferred somewhere else.

Beyond Wigginton (obvious score) the last time I checked I'm pretty damn excited about Terrence Lewis. At 6'6" shooting overall 62% works for me. Additionally, the last time I checked the Cyclones very successful with kids from Michigan and Canada i.e. Monte Morris and Naz. Bring them on down!
