Forbes was irrelevant to Castillo. Took the Forbes commit when things were still looking very good for him.

They will take Jackson (agree unlikely) or Powell if the opportunity is there. Powell may be a better shot than we think as Stanford seems to be in a take one situation with he and another kid. Oddly enough, our best hope for Jackson is Farniok going Iowa, IMO. Jackson would still have great choices of course, but I think Iowa is tops.

Either way, it seems like they have legitimate candidates as "backups" if they don't get top guys. Pro Wells has been thought of as a backup option to Allen, and he was given a 4 star rating by 247 today.

Wow, Wells is actually ranked higher than Chase Allen now according to 247's rankings

Adrian Killins: "Nothing was a dull moment. I was playing Coach Campbell in Madden. It was a good game up until the end. He beat me."

The one thing I remember is that he's super fast. Think he was officially clocked in the 4.3 range at a camp. Believe he had some potential grade issues so he was a little under recruited, but don't hold me to that.

WR Tariq Young has cancelled his visit to Ames and now has Colorado St. and W. Kentucky as his front runners. Not a big loss. I think we are only going 1 more WR and Ballard seems to be the top prospect. He will visit on Thursday.
Checked Ballard's Rivals page yesterday, he is "High" on only one school, ISU. Don't know, though, how up-to-date is his Rivals page.

Ballard is kind of an interesting recruit. Like some people said earlier many schools showed interest but only a few offered. That could have been due to his grade issues that someone mentioned earlier as well. That isn't the only intriguing thing about Ballard though, he also varies a lot in his ranking depending on what site you look at. Rivals and Scout have him 72 spots difference Rivals at 90 and Scout at 162 but either way he is the #1 WR in the state of Missouri so that's encouraging.

When ISU initially offered back in Dec. the Midwest Analyst from Scout.com wrote in an article talking about the ISU offer that Ballard had ran a 4.36 40. If you look at Ballard's 40 times not in the article on scout is listed at 4.55 and Rivals is 4.64. Now many things could be the reason behind so much variation in the times, but to have an analyst state 4.36 in an article as recent as December is great news. Long story short I believe you are correct kid can fly.. Also has decent height to boot at 6'2"..
