With Gill, wasn't it the deal that it came down to us and Illinois, talk was that he was coming here, and then in the end he went with the Illini? We just missed out on some incredible kids back in those days. I'm still sore about the Glen Rice thing.
We got Mark Baugh, highly regarded out of Illinois and one of the "Bam" trio, in the same class as Gill. The trio were going well early, but things turned worse after the 2nd year together.

I’m gonna guess ISU lands this kid. Doesn’t sound like Illinois is recruiting him that much. In December he said his top three are ISU Stanford and Northwestern. Obviously a bright kid.

Illinois probably feels like the can slow play him as they fish deeper in the pool since they are his "dream offer." Sometimes that works and sometimes it backfires. Will be interesting to see where this goes.

Yeah, not sure if it is the pressure of the job or what, but they seem to miss on some big recruits trying to land huge recruits.
