Not getting Juiston was a killer gut-punch IMO.

With Alstork out, if Brown doesn't pick ISU, I really do think next year is officially a rebuilding year that fans need to be prepared for. Will be fun to watch the kids develop but could be a rough go.

Great news the Morrow visit went well. He is crucial to the future of our program IMO. I really think he could be a 15 ppg 10 rpg type of player as an upperclassmen.

I am starting to think we need to bank a scholarship and get the best available mid year transfer possible. Next year we are more than likely rebuilding.

Shayok, Morrow and a immediate impact mid year transfer waiting in the wings would be enormous for 2018/2019.

It'll be fun to see what the freshman can do next year.

Sucks that Marquette is fairly relevant in basketball again, it was nice when they had that down period. At first when I kept seeing Marquette was in on him, I didn't think it would be that serious of a concern.

Until they fill Squaw Creek with cement, i'm always going to worry....

If things get ugly next season, does Wigginton get a case of buyer's remorse?

Nope. He wants to get major minutes right away. It was one of the reasons he chose ISU. I'd be more worried about that if we added a couple of play right now guards that would threaten his minutes.

With out adding anyone, which I seriously doubt ends up happening, the positive is the new guys will get minutes to grow and be ready a year from now and well have Shayok and hopefully Morrow to add for major impact the the redemption season. Not having expectations should help a fun team with the maturing of the young guys Wigginton, Lewis, Babb, Lard, Young, McNeil and Long.

I've been wondering about Morrow's Nebraska teammate Michael Jacobson. Big kid with a nice shot. Maybe underrated because of prior injury? He's from Iowa and wants to play for ISU.

If you think Morrow is a home run, he's probably an extra base hit.

Imo we already have Kasongo, so I don't see the need. He's likely to end up better than that imo, and he seems like a possible grad transfer after two years at a mid-major.

Oh, I guess I was just trying to think of players with those initials that play the 3 since I was talking about Babb and Lewis having to step up if we miss on Brown.

Feels like there is a chance JB and NWB could be seen at the 4. No way I think JB is 30+ mpg.

Kind of putting the 3 and 4 together in my mind.

But what about the other options the staff has been working on for many, many months? Or are you hinting the staff doesn't have any other options?

My guess is the staff is able to field a full team next year despite a few guys not wanting to play for us and the end result will be a team that is much better than the sum of its parts.

I don't really care who doesn't come to ISU, I'm way more into watching the staff mold a brand new team with a brand new identity with the players that want to be Cyclones. Can't wait to watch the new guys find their way and grow as men and as basketball players.
