I actually don’t like the idea of Ward, Jones and King being our front line next year. I think all three will develop over the off season but even if that happens, the ceiling of the team will be lowered a bit.

I think we have an opportunity to have a special season next year and I think getting a guy similar to Osun’s ability is a key factor.

Good players are going to be in very high demand in the transfer portal, lets hope we have the NIL funds to fill a couple of spots. I see us getting a couple of mid majors that have a lot of experience, kind of like what we did with Osun and Holmes.

In that case, give me Ward back (known quantity who knows the system) and give me two experienced shooting guards. I think rotating Jones/Ward at the 5 would be fine.
I expect / hope that Tre gets minutes at the '5' next year. A front line of Watson/Omaha/Tre is crazy athletic and 'multiple' on both ends of the court.

To improve offensively we need to avoid at all costs having 40% of the players (PG & C) on the court be absolutely no threat from 3.

I'm most excited about seeing the Williams-Hamilton-Watson-Omaha-Tre lineup - where they are all between 6'5" and 6'9" and all super athletes and all (except maybe Hamilton) can defend at least 4 positions. That line-up switching everything would be killer.

I agree, Tre is definitely strong enough to hold his own against a slim center. Would probably struggle a bit against the really big dudes, but obviously we'd use it situationally according to match up.

I’m looking forward to Rob Jones returning. He can absolutely dominate with his strength and aggressive, relentless approach as a rebounder and screener from the low post. His ‘studied’ moves around the bucket have been almost beyond anyone stopping him consistently one-on-one. As he’s improving at passing back out, he becomes increasingly valuable in his 15-18 minutes. Big Energy Rob indeed! (P.S. I hope he can be coached and practice over the off season into becoming at least a 60-65% free throw shooter.)

Add: King and Jones in the 4-5 make a very solid interior.

Yeah, he'd be fine. How many really big dudes do we really run into?
Not many. This year off the top of my head, Disu at UT, Lampkin at TCU, Cisse at OSU. Those guys would be a load to defend at his size, but we could have certainly gone that route when those guys were out, or pretty much full time against a team like KU.

Heavy on ball pressure (which we apply) can somewhat mitigate mismatches on the inside by pushing offenses further from the hoop. With that lineup, we'd need the remaining four players to rebound well - given their athleticism, I think they can.

Lampkin (TCU) and Bell (WVA) are the two I can think of - but they are generally slow and can create great mismatches on the other end. It goes both ways - think of how much time Georges spent at the '5', especially his Sr year.

...If Ward, Jones and King come back, you have the start of a pretty good front court..."

Whoa, haven't heard this. Is the Ward transfer rumors picking up momentum?
