Just saw that- not a fan . I get the no sectionals as some have been pretty weak and going to all districts - but 24 qualifiers ?

Seems like it's a safety net for those top-10 guys who finish 3rd in a stacked district.

And I figured people would be happier about state duals moving away from the traditional state tournament, to the old sectional weekend.

My son was in that same scenario. Had 2 top 5 placers in his sectional. I wish they were staying at 16 qualifiers. He hated watching the tournament with us after state duals. Pretty good motivator.

One positive with the larger state tournament 50% of the field will no longer place. They need to go back to placing top six only.

Looks like Willie posted his final 2022 team recruit rankings. Anyone with a subscription want to share where Iowa State ended up?

#2 behind only Ohio State. Wow. What an incredible late jump!

He has Casey #3, Gaitan #14, Rojas #19, Euton #77, and Perryman #85

Now if only they could get a recent upper weight grad to join the CRTC to help in the room, that would be great.

Obviously I'm biased as an ISU fan, but these seem like the fairest rankings to me. Swiderski deserves that spot. He's handled Mendez twice now, and he was thought of as top-3 guy prior to those beatings. Gaitan has a win over top-10ish Levi Haines and handled Riggins from WSR, who's a top 40-50 type kid. Rojas has had a few losses this season, none of them bad, but he has enough big wins to be top-20.

Flo's weight class rankings are OK, but their 2022 big board hasn't been updated since October, which is kind of ridiculous since they've updated their 2023, 2024, and 2025 boards within the last few weeks.

Looking forward to seeing some of our guys go in freestyle this weekend. Flo has Rojas and Naak in their U20 preview. Fargo should be a lot of fun this summer.
