Does the person who made up this rumor not understand how point shaving works? Texas was a 5 point favorite.

Players who shave points are on the favored team and usually a large favorite. Example, if you are favored by 20 over Kansas a player shaves points to make sure their team wins by less than 20.

If you are the underdog and are losing intentionally you are just throwing the game.

To be clear I don't buy this rumor one bit. But the starting QB on an underdog can absolutely impact an O/U if they want to.
