On first thought, I would too. But then I got to thinking about tests for OWI and such. The don't need a warrant then, do they?

Have you seen the drunk driving PSAs? They don't even need to put you to the breathalyzer - the booze runs out the window of the car when you roll it down! :jimlad:

Think so?

Regardless of the timing, I'd have to think the police gave them a test. They passed or failed. Failed = what is ISU doing, Passed = what is the DA doing?

That's just my guess.

And technically you can refuse the breathalizer. Also, I've heard that if you ask for a lawyer to be present, they must wait for the lawyer to get there before you can be tested. (have no idea if this is actually true, and I hope to never have to find out the hard way)

I want to know the reason behind the reinstatements soon here too. Really makes us look hypocritical of how we rip on Iowa's lack of discipline. I hope there is something pretty concrete behind the reason like the charges were dropped or something not just "we'll let the judicial system run its course" like the Hawks have said many times.

I'm trying to figure out who this "us" in this "makes us look hypocritical of how we rip on Iowa's lack of discipline" statement?

I don't recall Jamie Pollard making any sort of statement about the way U of I disciplines its athletes. I don't recall Paul Rhoads making any comments about how U of I disciplines its athletes.

This doesn't make ISU look hypocritical.

And the way I read this thread, the same ones who advocated Hawk athletes suspensions are the same ones who are advocating suspension of these three players. No hypocrisy there, either.

You have this information memorized? That's impressive.

Didn't Pollard say that the reason the Iowa Football team helped sand bag Iowa City during the floods was because it was some sort of work release program, or something like this?

First of all, it's easy to tell who the "stand up" posters are on here. They are pretty consistent with their posts. DaddyMac for one. Don't take my word for it. Go back and check them yourself

This was a joke at a Cyclone outing. Iowa coaches joke the same way about ISU at Hawkeye outings.
