If that's the case, Big 12 needs to see if A&M wants to come back.....entire leadership of a conference member left out of the conversation for 6 months? And now they are supposed to welcome the reason they left for the SEC in the first place?

Ask them, Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Colorado if they'd be interested......money would say no ******* way, but never underestimate the hatred for Texas.

Only good thing is we are in a better spot than the last time this happened. I would be fine with Pac 12 and Big 10. I like that we could go to Arizona State games and get some new blood on the schedule. That is about all I like about this. College sports are now semi pro and I hope we can semi keep up with the arms race. I see about 10 teams in the future who will be able to compete with a few exceptions every year.

That's no different than how it is now.

Ummmm no. There's no way A&M would leave the best conference in the country for one that is basically already dead.

This is now a arms race between the SEC and Big10. It’s all about getting as many of the current blue bloods as possible.

College football is over as we know it and if I’m the SEC I make 4 more phone calls to OSU, Michigan, ND and Pedo. That would destroy your only conference competition and put the big10 in the same boat as the Big 12.
After that you pick up USC, Washington, Oregon and UCLA. You kick out the Vandy, Mizzery, Mississippi States for more blue blood room. End of story. The left overs will be the likes of Wisconsin, Iowa State’s of the world which will have scraps from TV rights.
The SEC probably doesn't need even need those PAC schools at that point.

"Need"....no. Want the players/money in Southern California and Nike money at Oregon....yes.

Agreed, the money is too good....but there is one way that it could happen; if the 13 other schools in your conference kept you in the dark on purpose while they were courting the batshit crazy ex-conference mate that you ran away from years ago and still can't stand.

I don't believe for one second that Jamie hasn't been making phone calls non-stop.

Jamie and Barry A. are old friends, I would hope that his new position would help us.

Also don't forget that these other schools in conferences have GOR and media deals that would have to be broken. If the Big12 is imploding, it will be easy to grab the scraps without all of the legal wrangling.

The BIG or PAC scenarios would both be ok as far as I am concerned. Would prefer the BIG due to regional and cultural fit, but would also be fine with the prospect of being part of an Eastern block for the PAC. Anything else probably wouldn't be good.

Also, if this has truly been in the works for 6 months, I certainly hope that the financial penalties for UT and OU are stiff.

I'm not sure ND and Michigan are willing to sell their souls to become part of the SEC semi-pro league. And the fans of all the other schools aren't going to just all of a sudden become fans of the semipro league. They will lose the things that make college sports unique.
It seems to em there are a lot of pieces that have to be moved into place yet for this deal to come together, and it may face some political hurdles like the Okie State condition and a lot of Texas politicians aren't going to be happy to see their other schools disadvantaged.

I think right now that’s a good thing honestly.

I was honestly thinking the same thing this morning... If i recall, during the last missle crisis he was more vocal. I'm hopeful he has some good plans in place right now and isn't feeling desperate yet.

Article from Omaha Weird Harold about TX/OU

Interesting quote, "If it’s true Iowa State’s Jamie Pollard chose to ignore Nebraska’s overtures for the athletic director job, it’s clear now why NU’s job is better."
Oh my god. Blow it out your ass Nebby.
