Actually lol’d
I redesigned my website at hoopstournament.net. I will start posting my daily tidbits tomorrow. 710 days since since the last tournament game when it tips off tomorrow.Whos going to start a March Madness thread so we can have something to distract us from these mind-numbing TJ threads?
Is it from 12 cans of Coke Zero?Something like a bowel movement?
I think JP is certainly hell bent on heading this direction in part because he felt like he was prevented from following his instincts six years ago. I happen to think it will work. People can have their concerns, but you have Jonas (lolTJ) and jsb (stated that TJ was likely rooting against Prohm the last six years) simply losing their minds. Jonas wants Groce (Akron) over T.J.
You’re likely correct that’s how Jamie has rationalize his Prohm hire. It’s the same reason we’re firing an 0-18 coach two years after an extension. Rather than learn, he’s been emboldened to take more risk to prove everyone wrong. Stuff you typically see with novice employees, but also behavior of those that have no accountability.
(Un)Fortunately his previous two decisions almost guarantee this one will “work” to some degree. It is not that tough to have some wins here. Morgan did it. Prohm did it on his own in 2018-19. I expect TJ to, and I don’t expect a long rebuild if the right questions have been asked. I do think a much better coach could have been hired. Just like in 2015
The worst part (maybe the only bad part) about the Hoiberg hire working out is it forever give an excuse to justify high-risk hires.
At the end its kind of like recruiting. Sometimes you get a recruit no one was after and they end up being a star. Sometimes there are 4-5* players that dont pan out. But the programs that are consistently getting top-rated recruits tend to, on-average, have more success. Hoiberg was that coach that wasnt in demand that was a big success. But most of the time, going for coaches that aren't in demand and hoping theyre a diamond in the rough will result in getting exactly what we paid for.
I miss Jon getting ripped apart on hereIn case anyone cares my previous username was JonDMiller
Let’s not act like TJ is working at an auto body shop lol he’s the head coach for UNLV for god sakes..That is a good post. The problem is for those pimping TJ it has nothing to do with being in demand or being a diamond in the rough. It's that he is just TJ. Roch just stated he thinks JP is hell bent on this hire because it was stopped six years ago. Well, if true.....then this was going to happen whether TJ was still coaching or a carnival barker. And that is the problem everyone is having with it! It's not that difficult to figure out let alone see.
Now......after my fussing I truly hope JP is just setting us up again for the "WOW". I can hope.
I want TJ as the next coach and it has nothing to do with whether he is friends with Jamie, how long it takes to hire him, whether he was the choice last time or anything other than I think he is the best choice long-term for Iowa State. Prohm was the longest tenured coach at ISU since Orr. My first year at ISU was in 1994 and our next coach will be our 8th coach in that timeframe. I think TJ is the best choice to end this constant turnover of coaches. That is a good post. Such a quick TJ hire is JP de facto admitting he has no clue in regards to basketball. The worst part (maybe the only bad part) about the Hoiberg hire working out is it forever give an excuse to justify high-risk hires.

To your point, just how bad would TJ have to been the last 5 seasons for Jamie to not consider him? That is a good post. Saving the system for my next trip.Hey trying to come up with $3M in Vegas isn't easy. Jamie showed up in Vegas with $1M as he thought he could lowball the UNLV AD. She didn't budge.
IN VEGAS, $1M in hand, what else do you do? Call Wendy and ask for $2M more? Hell no, hit the tables. Jamie started off on a great winning streak at the Craps table and was up to nearly $2M by 1:37pm. Lady luck didn't hold and he was back down to $1.25M by 5pm.
After a quick $50 burger and a show, Jamie hit the Baccarat tables this evening. Unofficial word from Vegas, another up and down session, mainly down. Jamie has only $50k left.
Never the quitter, Jamie's going to hit a Celine Dion, Shania Twain or some show like that. Get his mojo back and hit the roulette wheel at 4am, with a fool proof system: In order go all in on the following can't miss spins: 21, 10, 3, 31, 11, 21 & 4
Why those #'s?
-21 Craig Brackens
-10 Diante Garrett
- 3 Melvin Ejim
-31 Georges Niang
-11 Monte Morris
-21 Matt Thomas
- 4 Alison Lacey
Can't beat a fool proof system and Lady Luck!! Big day tomorrow.
Anyone defending Leath should STFU.No ****. And Leath had to step in and tell Jamie to actually be a ******* P5 AD, do your job and stop with the nepotism, weekend buddy bull ****. Do interviews. Look at TJ against guys with experience. Blame Leath only for not stepping in sooner.
Jamie still picked Prohm. Over TJ even. That’s a fact. Then he extended him with a horrible buyout not even two years ago. Jamie has been on a losing streak in MBB for 6 years
