Rhoads: Allen Lazard will get chance to play as true freshman

my expectations for Lazard aren't much this year. Not because I'm down on him, just because it's going to be tough as a true freshmen to compete for catches with guys like Bundrage, Bibbs, West, and Montgomery. Ecby & Daley should be competing for snaps too.

I'm personally going to be disappointed if he doesn't average >100 yards per game this year. And at least 3 TD's.

I'm just surprised there needed to be an article on this. He's likely one of our best players just by showing up.

They're doing a nice slow build for the Lazard story. Realistically, we all know that he's going to start, but this seems to be the staff's way to slowly build to that point and maybe keep expectations under control a little bit.

For how much the media talks about how great of a player he is, he could become a disappointment even if he has a great season but doesn't meet exectations.
