The culture.

Riding all over Linn and Johnson County on trails while road bikers are too 'cool' to acknowledge anyone on a trail riding anything different than a road bike..

Their unfounded arrogance is laughable

We bought Hybrids to meander off the pavement once in awhile, and happy with our decision. These road bikers **** doesn't stink apparently.

My favorite is passing the average road biker (30 lbs overweight) who can go relatively fast because of their girth and lightweight bike.

As I blow by them on the trails they are deeply offended GETTING PASSED BY A HYBRID, as they frantically try to catch up

LOL.....good gawd....you know who you are. Get off your high horse

I got passed by a fat tire mountain bike today, that guy was moving. And I ride a road bike (felt Z series, it is more upright than a normal road bike).

There are ******** riding every type of bike out there. There are also bikers with huge chips on their shoulders for some reason who try to put people in categories rather than looking at individuals as individuals.

indeed. Like treating every other biker as their subordinate......as they're 30 pounds overweight and going fast on a road bike..."get the f- out of my way and I'm cool and you all suck" is their mantra

~ which is why as they huff and puff and get all upset a sucky hybrid passed them

LMAO

I ride a road bike, and started when I did a triathlon a few years ago. I liked the attitude of the other triathletes who were very cool. You get a good vibe from some Road bikers, but a lot are all about how much they spend on their bikes and are dinks about it. But hey, it's the legs not the bike, and if you're passing 'em you get the last laugh.

Do you give them a heads up before you pass them or do you just blow by them?
actually it's the road bikers who are coming from the opposite direction that are way too cool to acknowledge anyone inferior like a hybrid rider. You won't get a 'hello' or a return pleasantry---they're too damn important to the biking world to bother with us underlings.

(I love road bikes and will buy one down the road)

Same side traffic, I blow by the skinny and fatty road bikers with my lame hybrid to make them pout...

funnier if they're all assessorized and blinged-up with their roady unitards and gear

They're probably all Hok fans, right Jamba?

Now that you mention it, I rode by a couple--the dude had hawkeye gear on and pulling a mini bike trailer (a cooler on wheels) donned with a Tigerhawk/Parrot stencil logo

Oh, and he rigged-up some (terrible) sound system of blaring country music to the apparatus.
