Anybody know what the tailgate situation is like in Jonesboro? All I have found so far is the "Tailgate City" which is a fundraiser for their foundation. May be time to sniff around some of their fan sites.

@crs8975 I need your advice for tailgating for the Colorado game. Will you guys be hosting something?

We are not. Wife has a conference up in Steamboat all week so I'll be up there partaking in the scenery. We're planning to drive straight in on Saturday. Alumni club out here had wanted to host a tailgate but they weren't able to find a place to actually do it without it costing a ton. Parking is a bit of a pain up in Boulder unfortunately.

What? You would pick the scenery in Steamboat over hanging out with us CF-ers on Friday night?

It is tough when you deal officially with the institution. In Akron, I was able to take advantage of their absence of tailgate tradition and talk them into just renting me a small parking lot. resold spaced to others for $25 each to cover it and it worked out really well. It was the first time we had ever had the band come.

Please put me in touch with the leaders of the Alumni Club there.

I'm sorry I'd rather go to Stillwater than Ft Worth, Cincy, Jonesboro.
Eskimo Joe's is a quintessential college bar.

Went to Colo right before they left for the PAC but the turnout was pretty apathetic. Beautiful town though.

They actually had a post on here a while back regarding the possible tailgate under general discussion. @Colorado @trey.hemmingsen

I’d say CU since it’s our first game at Folsom in 15 years.

Can’t go wrong with either tbh. Both Denver and DFW alumni chapters are pretty active.

Oct 11 in the Rockies or the Sierras is the exact perfect time of year for mountain recreation in the USA.

- No summer vacation crowds, even some national parks shockingly empty given it's the best time to go
- No mosquitoes
- Perfect weather almost entire mountain region
- No risk of huge snow storms yet, can still camp in a tent or backpack if you want
- Low chance of rain compared to other times of year
- Serious hikers can hike across mountain streams without wondering if it's going to be a rushing river like in the spring

The only downside is you might miss a football game so...

No, we are not. The plan now is to find a space for the night before

OK. Thanks for setting this up. We are looking forward to it. Any thoughts about places to gather on gameday before the game?

I just emailed the group to see if we can secure a space for Cyclone fans, even if we're bringing our own food/drink.
