Hello Cyclone fans! The Wildcat wants to tell you about one of your own players even though I have never seen him on the field. I have worked with Roosevelt Maggit this summer and want to tell you that he is a quality person that I would be proud to claim as a son. Roosevelt works out with the team in the early mornings and then comes to work to earn a few dollars. While at work he always sports a big smile, a great attitude, and works like a dog. Roosevelt just destroys the stereotype of the spoiled, pampered athlete that only thinks of himself.

I call ********. He only eats healthy (no queso on his pancheros) also I hear he slacks while detailing cars. Don't shoot the messenger

I believe he lives in my apartment complex. He has a pit bull.... aka I stay the **** away from him. I am sure he is a nice guy, whenever I drive by him while he is walking his dog he is always smiling.

will he be a senior this year? and does anyone know if he will apply for the sixth year of eligibility since he missed enough time last year to garner the medical redshirt?

I'll second Roosevelt being a really good guy. A couple years ago, as a medical student, I got to do a rotation with Dr. Schuman and go to football practices. There were two guys on the team that took time to introduce themselves and talk with me: Roosevelt and Matt Taufou (sp?). I got to talk with him quite a bit during the couple weeks I was there and was really impressed with him.

Unrelated note but something I found cool from that rotation. Thursdays they would have practice in the indoor facility. On those days they would work on their trick plays. Got to see a variety of fake punts and FG's. The end of the last Nebraska game I said to the people I was with to watch for the fake here. It had been a play I'd seen them run several times. Unfortunately it always worked much better in practice.

It worked perfectly, the execution of the throw was just.......bad. To be nice.

unfortunately humble and nice don't make ya a good football player. i don't think maggitt is that good of a DE. was hoping to see if he had progressed last year but then he got hurt. hope he has improved this year... oh, and his brother started as a true freshman last year and had a great season! wish we would have landed him
