Yet it's 100% correct

He's not with the team and they don't know when he's coming back.

I get that, but my initial thought when reading this was he was no longer on the team, which is not the case. Hes taking his time to protect both his and the Rockets investment. Royce is a man, he will be there in due-time.

Weird my initial reaction was what the article stated that he just missed the start of training camp. Don't be so negative and assume the worst people!

But in all seriousness, I really hope this does not hinder his ability to play in the NBA. A lot of teams passed on him because of it, and I really hope he can prove not only to himself and the Rockets but anyone suffering from a clinical anxiety problem that you can still succeed in high pressure/high stress environments with this.

Fair enough. It can be taken that he's no longer with the team quite easily.

This does not sound good. You would have thought they had a solid plan already. Looks like Plan A bombed.

That was my thought. Pretty late in the game to not have already considered an anxiety management plan. Hopefully it gets worked out very soon.

If I really cared, I'd go look up all the posters that bashed me for saying I'd move Royce down my draft board because of the anxiety. It sucks to be right, though. I'm confident Royce can "manage" the anxiety, but it will always be difficult for him.

And the extra hard part is that anxiety doesn't go away. It's a lifelong mental illness, and one that has to be carefully managed or it can get out of control. It sounds like he's being proactive, which is great.

Worst case:

First concern is a typical NBA team will have six players trying out for three open positions for when the season starts. If he continues to have issues and misses camp, he may jeopardize making the team on the opening roster. Then he would have to play with the Energy opr overseas which would be worst to travel with his family. Then he should have stayed at ISU....he needs to make it to camp
