No doubt we have probems, but I'd say the core of the country is pretty darn healthy. Apathy is what kills countries and there's very little of that right now in our political process..

Just because the world wouldn't want us to crumble, doesn't mean we won't. We have a lot of things going for us, but our irresponsibility has finally caught up with us, and our "leaders" are fiddling while Rome burns. And at least half of us are cheering them on.

We are united because we want to. Those countries are united because they have to. Even if we hit rock bottom, we have the history of uniting when times are bad and correcting it. Its seems a majority of our people have common goals and will work together to achieve them. For crying out loud we survived a war that divided our country in half at the time. We have invested too much of our lives and time to give it up.
