coaches are employees...Employees of a company are not allowed to seek other compensation outside their current employer.

I cannot go find a 2nd job in my current job. I'd get fired.

NiL will get fixed..hopefully sooner than later.

Depends on the company. I know quite a few people who have other jobs outside their main employment, usually as long as the other jobs don't interfere or compete with their main job it's no big deal.

Coaches usually have a separate LLC setup to run their endorsement type deal through - seen this first hand with a former ISU coach.

No comprehension issue. You're just making a buffoonish point. Coaches can and have been singing NIL deals for a long time and the scenario you're worried about hasn't been an issue. So, we can move on to the next slippery slope. This one's run out of runway.
OK, I'll use the common terminology of this forum.
Hey idiot, where did I mention NIL for coaches? Address my point about coaches and officials wearing logos of sponsors other than Nike, UA, Adidos, etc.
I know they don't teach reading or comprehension anymore in favor of other issues but learn on your own.

Easy to find union tradesmen working on side jobs.

You specifically mentioned coaches having the right to have different logos on their apparel. How do you think that happens if not through NIL deals? That's literally describing what a NIL deal is. Coaches have been able to sign them for a long time, and have never run into the issues you're being all chicken little about.

Lol. You don't even understand the point you were trying to make. But yeah, I'm the idiot...

Yes you are. Have you seen logos from those other deals on coaches and officials.

Exactly. You haven't seen them. That's my entire point. You're whining about some horrible eventuality that has been entirely possible for a long time and HASN'T happened. Why would it change now?

Why didn't the Vikings show loyalty to Fran instead of trading him to the Giants? Seems to me that loyalty ought to be a two way street
The point of my post is that there is no loyalty from either side, so I literally said it goes both ways.
As to Tarkenton, just from memory I never recalled him being anything but a Viking. So, I chose a bad example just going from my recollection. I guess I should have used Staubach, Roethlisberger or Eli Manning. Sorry!

100% this.
When dabo/saban were dominating with their entire roster full of 5 stars they loved the system. Now that they are losing recruits to other school and having a bunch of guys transfer they suddenly hate the system in place. Totally self serving.
I think that is a simplistic take. I agree they enjoyed being the school of choice for top players because they could offer the visibility of playing for National Titles and incoming recruits the chance to compete against the best upperclassman in practice every day.

Based on what I have read, I think coaches don't want to deal with their athlete's financials.

Who decides what players make the most? Even if collectives make that decision (which I'm skeptical), the coach will hear about it from athletes AND THEIR FAMILIES/HANDLERS.

How about playing time. Sure coaches got those calls before. But now there will be the added angst that not playing is costing their child NIL money.

With NIL college coaches will now take on the GM role as well. Because if one guy gets paid- the other 12 or 85 will want their fair share as well.

I mean the main difference is there is a mechanism in place to compel that they keep showing up to their job year after year. Or at least buyouts to go to other jobs.
