I was at a buddy's wedding in 2005. He is an U of Iowa grad and a great guy.
His new spouse --an UNI grad and one of those annoying chip-on-their-shoulder Purple/PantherHawks

Wedding was on Iowa's open date in 2005-- the Saturday Todd Blythe went off for (4) TD's @ Texas A & M.

At the reception in bumblef#ck, (northeast) Iowa, the wedding party and others started singing the Iowa Fight Song--so I was headed to my car in the parking lot several times to listen to the ISU game

LOL

oh, and the CR Gazette beat writer for ISU---was actually an Iowa fan. and was married on the same day of course, not covering this ISU game. (purposely married on his beloved Hawkeye's open date)

We got married in the fall, and had our wedding on a Friday night, partially for this reason. We planned to go to the game on Saturday and have a big tailgate, but it was the Jeremiah George Texas Fumble game, which ended up moving to a Thursday.

So we ended up have a rehearsal dinner type of thing at Jack Trice. Worked out really well, except for the officiating . . .

You don't just put your arm around a guy and tell him it's ok when that happens to him.
