After that kind of year for the offense, I would think it would be fairly normal to be both skeptical of a change that may not be a huge one and also a bit insecure about how they might fit into that change.
An offense that grinds away time (while scoring somewhat consistently) isn't revolutionary at all, but has been proven an effective way to win games. I think it could provide significant change though, with just a touch more aggression and unpredictability. And of course, execution.
Like any situation, I think the players will have to see those changes in action to get totally on board with them. That's pretty normal.
