I agree with above.....
The only thing that will happen is a Division 4 will be in place and ISU will have to come up with Millions to keep up with the big guys.

Okay so say the schools in the SEC pay their players. Doesn't this just lend credence that the major schools are going to break away or form a new division of the NCAA?

Yes, this is not a coincidence. However, it seems highly unlikely that the NCAA is doing this. Its probably being pushed as another step by those wanting a break. In addition it makes 6 win seasons here seam like an ok ceiling as everyone else is cheating big time and we forgot to write down calls that no one even answered.

After a thorough investigation the SEC schools are praised by the NCAA because they were actually paying players a lot less than everyone thought.

Man, some future players are going to have to pay for these guys taking money. Sucks to be them.

I like it. Why saddle one school with the entire penalty for the conference?
This is a nice sharing program.

Oh, these SEC schools are really cooperative with each other. I heard that they have this rule where you never offer more to a kid than the school in his home state is offereing. I mean, they're the epitome of working together down there.

So ESPN is going nuts about OSU these past few days. Any chance at all they talk about this in any negative way? Nope. When the SEC does it, the talking points immediately shift to the need to pay players, not that rules were broken.

As others have somewhat mentioned, nothing will come of this precisely because the SEC doesn't need the NCAA. But the NCAA needs the SEC.

Would the fans paying billions of dollars to see college kids play give a damn what "non-profit" body sits behind their football. Of course not!

And the NCAA is not at all willing to give up on their giant masses of money, hell no.

The NCAA is going to either do nothing, or if the noise from other non-SEC institutions gets too loud, do as little as possible so as to not **** off the money tree that is SEC football but still placate the masses.

It's okay, every school might as well do it right? Plus espn loves them and so does the ******* NCAA so nothing will come of it.

I love the cyclones and respect what they all do to run as clean a program as possible.

If I admitted to committing a serious crime but no evidence was presented to back it up would I go to jail?
