CW, Self is overrated. His coaching shenningans smack of desperation. His shrill style has deteriorated from past years. He is really boring when he throws first half hissys.

You realize he played in the finals last year right? And he's likely going to get a 1 or 2 seed this season. Both of the least two teams were supposed to be his least talented squads and yet he gets them to win games.

Our own fan base is going to drive me away. Seriously. Self did what he had to, and he didn't get away with anything, so why are you complaining. I think Self is the best coach in the Big 12, and he's proven it. Anyone not giving him credit needs to look at who has won the regular season title over, and over, and over, and over, etc. C'mon. Quit being butt hurt pansies, have a strong drink (or 4), and get on with it. Grow up.
Self has looked like a horses *** on the sideline the last few games. Something is up with him. Maybe he is leading a pack of dead wolves unless he jumps on their jugular. He is so animated this year, it is bizarre. He is making Fran look good. If he had been in church, he would have been tossed the first two minutes.

Feel free to leave any time, dude. Seriously.

Self knows how to work the refs. It's part of being a good coach. Props to him

So you're ok with someone basically cheating to win. There shouldn't be any such thing as "working the refs". Aren't they supposed to be impartial observers? (obviously I know the reality of how it works)

I cant find it, but how many T's has Self got in his career? I would have to imagine at least 10% of them have come in his last 2 games against ISU.

Sorry but I just don't get this. He thought it was a bad call. He works hard for his team. What is the big deal?? Rise above, dude.

I don't get the hate for Self during this game. If one of our players had looked at the KU bench after a 3 (apparently thats all he did) and got a T we would be livid, and the small percentage would be ripping Fred a new one for not being more emotional. He didn't do anything to disrespect us so get over it. You don't have to like him but he is a damn good coach.

He didn't just "look" at our bench. After he made the shot he stared down our players WHILE high-stepping down the sideline..... Blatant unsportsmanlike, imo. & I definitely thought BS was out of line for going off like he did after that call...

That being said, none of that is an excuse for why we lost. Just didn't bring it tonight. KU finally earned a win against us, no doubt.

well, it is hard to beat a team 3x in one year
especially when your opponent drops 53 on you in 20 minutes

Oh shut up. If Hoiberg did this and it helped ISU win, this Forum would be praising him. Its gamesmanship... deal with it.

This is a topic about self being apparently classless, so your issue would be with NCAA or Big 12 not Self so i think that proves his point

He is probably working the refs more than usual because I don't think his team is as good as KU teams in the past. This is probably one of his better coaching jobs, to be honest.

He might be a tad classless but he wins lots of games and makes way better adjustments then our coach does. I love Hoiberg don't get me wrong but Bill Self is the reason KU won tonight, not the refs. He works the refs and thats why they get so many calls in their favor. Hoiberg sits in a chair and just watches.

I thought he was pretty hilarious in the halftime interview. The T on McLemore was pretty weak. It was borderline at best. I think BM caught himself pretty quick, but the ref was quicker with the T. I'd have been livid if our player was called for that...

This is a refereeing problem not a Self problem.
