Well as a network admin, you have to sign a NDA stating they can look through any electronic that you brought with you to the job or else you could get sued. They deleted all the ones I downloaded. They had my laptop for 3 days. I didn't have time to email them before they took it.

Do you use a cloud backup? Wink, wink!

I do not... I only have a 3TB external to backup on at home but I did have it on my CyBox (like drop box for students) and they even deleted them from there. They are pretty serious about this SEZ stuff. I wasn't the only one fired.

I get information security and all but multiple people fired about some SEZ plans that arent exactly much of a secret (some of the top staff are more than willing to talk about it to donors, apparently) seems rather stupid.

Students are disposable. Donors aren't.

All sounds good except the capacity. I just hope we can fill 65,000 seats at full price, not the next to nothing prices people on the hills pay. Plus, during down years the stadium will look bad with all the empty seats. Would've rather seen more like 45,000-50,000.

65K is far superior. 50K maxes our capacity from day one. 65K we sell out half the time, a few thousand empty the rest of the time, not enough to look bad.

If we had 50K, we would be looking to expand again in a few years. The incremental cost of construction is so high it is better to do it in one move.

Also, 65K maximizes revenue. If you sell out every game then by definition you are leaving money on the table. Sell outs mean you're in the wrong place on the supply and demand curve.

You got fired for accessing files on the SEZ?? This is a joke right? If not, I would get an attorney ASAP. They can't fire you for that. I work for a very large Medical Device company and there have been sales reps who have posted information about yet to be released new products on a public message board and they weren't fired. And we are talking about revealing stuff that has not yet been approved by the FDA.

Dude if you got fired for looking at and downloading stuff regarding a college football stadium then you need to run not walk to an attorney and tell them what happened.

Hire an attorney? That seems pretty drastic for a part-time job as a college student.

Why would you think it's illegal to fire someone accessing confidential files and sharing company info with the public?

I believe the phrase "at-will employment" will probably come up at least once during any conversation with a lawyer. Further, if his employer says, "hey don't look at these files" and he's caught doing that, the employer is 100% within their rights to terminate employment.

If you want the attorney to get a good laugh at your expense, I recommend this.

Got fired from my job at FP&M for accessing info for the South Endzone too much. Technically I wasn't allowed to be snooping around even though I was a network admin.

Ah well... the drawings look nice though

If you're in admin and got caught doing something you're not supposed to, it sounds like you're doing it wrong.
You should probably look into another major.

Meh, there are plenty of attorneys that will take just about any case. I worked for a company that was sued 3 times for wrongful termination. Even though none of them were even close to that. Heck, two of them were due to just plain downsizing. And supposedly Illinois is a "No need for an excuse to fire someone" state.

I by no means am agreeing that going against company policy should not allow you to be fired. Merely stating that there are enough attorneys out there to not only not laugh, but probably write a couple of letters implying litigation.
