Nothing else happening in the sports world, lets debate. You're drafting, who are you taking? Shaq was more dominant in his prime, Duncan was more consistent and better for the long haul. I'm still taking Shaq, might be the most dominant player ever in his prime.

Shaq. If he would have stayed in shape in his prime we’d be talking about him differently today.

Not exactly sure.
If I am drafting to rebuild a team, Shaq. If I have a decent team, I’m going with Duncan and continual building. Shaq would give that immediate boost to make you a threat immediately. Duncan is the guy to get that final piece.

Shaq- the league modified their defensive philosophy when he was in his prime.

Lol, Dudley would have got his ass beat if Shaq would have fought him
I loved Shaq because he was so dominate but he also got under opposing players skins. It’s like if you combined LeBron’s dominance and Draymond’s ability to be annoying right now lol.

Both Hall of Fame players and any team would have been lucky to have either one. Especially in such a star-driven league where one player like Shaq or Duncan almost guarantees a playoff berth.

For just a couple of seasons, Shaq by a mile. For a franchise, career centerpiece, it's Duncan for me. Duncan was a way better teammate, and had a lot better longevity.

Duncan, he can play the 4 or 5 and isn't nearly the liability at the free throw line.

Semi-related: I’d love to see how prime Shaq would fit in today’s NBA. Could you run him off the floor and abuse him in PNR? On the flip side, would he average 1.95 per possession against Golden State’s death lineup and just dunk all over 6’7” Draymond?

young Shaq would have been an insane rim running, lob catching monster in today’s NBA. Lakers Shaq would have been run off the court and a complete liability in the pick and roll.
