Neither? Haven't been clean shaven in probably 5-6 years.

I always shaved before, but that's just how my Dad always did it so I guess I followed his lead.

For most of my life I always shaved before showering. A few years ago, a couple guys at work said they shave in the shower. I tried it and have done it ever since. It takes a little skill with no mirror but I feel I get a better shave and have less cuts and irritation.

Dreaded shaving - skin always got too irritated and my facial hair must sit tight to the face as always had to make too many passes to get a clean shave. That was with high-end electric razors (Braun, Norelco, etc) or good lather and blade.

Decided to let it go during Covid so I only trim the beard on the weekend - it sits at a constant 1/8th or 1/4 inch. So much easier and less stressful.

After with the 38HD, witch hazel to finish. Have an old 1946 Gillette slim if I’m in a hurry.
Is the handle slick? I may have to look into one of those. I bought a Merkur with a slant and I thought I was going to bleed out.
