Re: Pollard

McDermott confirmed it to the Register already...

I see. I was just listening to Matt, who is an absolute drama queen who was acting as if the info should not have been leaked.

Re: Pollard

That is funny, I guess Pollard wasn't suppose to say that. oops

Pollard can say anything he wants, if it's true, as far as I'm concerned. Perrault wants it to seem like he has super-secret information.

Pollard Confirms McDermott to Creighton
AMES, Iowa- Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said Monday that Greg McDermott informed him this afternoon that he has accepted the men’s basketball head coaching position at Creighton.

“I know this was a very difficult decision for Greg and his family,â€￾ Pollard said. “The contract terms that Creighton offered him and an opportunity to coach his son were significant factors in his decision. We wish Greg the best of luck at Creighton.â€￾

Pollard said that his immediate attention is focused finding a replacement and he would have no further comments at this time.

Thank you JESUS! Time to move on and rebuild! However, I think next year is going to be ROUGH... like Hawkeye rough (just in a better building and with more fans!)

What did I miss here? Did Doug already decommit from UNI?

Re: Pollard

Per Perault talking to CW.

Cause Gmac didn't think ISU would retain him for the the time Doug was playing college ball. Perault telling CW that that info wasn't to become public yet and mentioned that Jacobsen and UNI administration might not know yet. I call BS since Gmac and jacobsen are buddies that surely Gmac called and talked to him about it.

That's BS. We asked McD about his son a few years ago at the NCC golf outing and way back then he said he was going to push his son to go somewhere else.

I've lost a LOT of respect for GMac today as a person. Although I believe this worked out well for ISU, GMac is a loser for what he's done to JP on this deal.

JP came out and gave his full support to GMac only weeks ago when he really should have fired his rear end for doing such a horrible coaching job this season with the talent he had. JP stuck his head out on the line for him when he didn't need to.

And now GMac is going to pluck Doug away from one of his friends after he's already signed a LOI? That is low folks. Really low. It puts Jacobsen in a really tough spot to try to find someone else now.

I think we're beginning to see the GMac that I saw rip into Wayne Morgan on UNI's basketball court one night... when I lost all respect I had for GMac. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him hired as our next head coach for the immature acts he performed that night to ISU's head coach. I'm beginning to see why he lost so many players over the years now.

I think GMac is REALLY REALLY good at covering up who he really is. I think the players all witnessed a side of him that none of us ever got to see. Today is their day in the sun.

GMac would have been an idiot to NOT take Creighton's offer. More money, longer terms, job security. I'm guessing JP realizes this is how business goes, and to himself, laughing his butt off that he just had a ~$3,000,000 gain.

Not just JP, but Bill Fennelly as well, who has always defended Gmac as a man of integrity and who does things the right way.
Wonder if anyone has asked BF for comment???

Re: Pollard

doug is good... not a Big XII player
2 things. There are about 10 guys projected to go in the 1st round of the NBA Draft over the next 2 years from mid-majors so it's not really an exact science or even close to one. 2nd If Greg were taking over at any college in America, Doug would be going with him. Doug not committing to ISU had everything to do with timing and nothing to do with lack of talent.

Pollard will find a good coach. He should take a hard Look at Larry Eustachy who has been sober for 6+ years and is winning at southern miss. Alot of people thought Bruce Vandevelde was a complete "TOOL" for firing Larry. Larry should come in keep Grayer and TJ and get to work.

Re: Pollard

you will have better luck just sitting out at amw...all flights will be blocked
More specifically: The tail number of the ISU plane has been blocked on flightaware.com by the owner. Therefore it cannot be tracked on flightaware.com. I know, I tried last year.
