If he chooses too I have no problem with it.
Love the dude and he’s been everything for us, but right now he’s not in any Top 20 WRs in the draft list. Some have him around 25th WR so he’s likely 6th or 7th round if in the draft at all.
you are looking at old data bases.

Those that have updated their analysis have him anywhere from late first to high 3rd, he is moving up a log.

So, he's anywhere from late 1st to UDFA?

Someone zero this in a little.

A "log" is a unit of measurement I am unfamiliar with...

Lol why would he sit out? He’s not projected as a first round draft pick is he? He’d probably play in a bowl game if we were in one.

Don't really understand why anyone with a shot at the NFL would play in a non-playoff bowl game. Nothing at all to gain there.

I know I’ll get a lot of pushback, and probably a lot of “dumbs” and “laughing emoji” responses, but I think we’re going to end TCU’s playoff hopes next week.
That's not very bold. We 'ruined' their hopes back in 2014 when they 'only' beat us by 52 instead of 60+ like they could have. Pretty wide margin for Campbell to win in on Saturday to 'ruin' TCU's playoff hopes. I don't see the toads winning by 60+ against this ISU team, despite how bad the offense is.

I mean, he could say he doesn’t want to play.

I was saying that Breece Hall was the consensus #1 RB in the 2022 draft class. There was no reason for him to continue playing in any meaningless game last year.

Hutchinson is not the consensus #1 WR. Currently that’s the TCU WR. In fact, he’s not even in the top 10, and most analysts don’t have him being drafted at all. So, for his sake, he needs as much film and exposure as possible, and that includes a nationwide broadcast this weekend. That’s why I am saying he should be playing.

Finally. This TCU game is exactly the game he should NOT sit out. He'll get lots of eyes on him there.

Saying he should sit out that game is just some troll ****. And this is coming from a person who said Breece should sit out before the bowl game last year.

If you're "leaving for the draft", but you're likely a 6th/7th round pick, then not playing shows only that you're arrogant and horribly unaware and likely will go undrafted. At least if he plays he has a chance to maintain or improve his draft standings.
I haven't been following draft projections at all, but am surprised at the talk that Hutchinson is 6th/7th/UDFA. Someone will be getting a steal if that is the case.

He shouldn’t consider it for 1 second and he won’t. There’s no guarantee he makes the NFL or play much if he does. So this could be his last big time football game. At a top 4 team that’s vying for a playoff spot, he’s ISU’s go to guy, still with a chance to pull off an epic upset, and get another look by NFL scouts. Sitting out is crazy talk.

Ah, just realized the OP is a hawk doucher, so that explains it. It’s more realistic that Jack Campbell sits out the rest of Iowa’s games. He’s a higher draft pick, gains nothing playing another ****** B1G West team (there is an endless supply), then getting drilled again in the CCG, then playing a meaningless non-NY6 bowl game.

Chris said the scouts he talked to Sunday had him 3rd/4th round. Combine will be way more important to him than this game where Dekkers might not even be able to get him the ball.

I don't remember anyone sitting out a regular season game because of draft capital. Certainly a projected Heisman runner up would have more reason to skip then x

Hard to say. I don't know how you choose to consume football games, but I generally don't watch teams once they're pretty much dead to rights like Iowa State is currently. Very few 4-win and below teams probably even have NFL draft picks that are actually draft eligible in the present.

This is updated regularly. No sign of Xavier.

Also, no sign of him in any of these mock drafts.

He will be a third day draft pick, if he is lucky. People on this board always seem to overestimate where Iowa State players will go. In fact, I believe I think last year a handful people thought up to 9 of the guys would be drafted. If I’m wrong, I’ll eat crow, but I’m not wrong. Day 3 or undrafted.

According Chris and what he heard from NFL scouts on Iowa everywhere today, it certainly seems like X will get drafted, and in the middle rounds too. Who knows though. I actually think Will might go a lot lower than what people might think.

I imagine that the scouts are being "friendly" or "nice" and are giving him the best case scenario answer.
